They gave themselves an out to cut costs when it comes to the roster due to the new salary cap rules (e.g. clippers). They pretty much have put this in the hands of the players to decide whether the money is important, or if winning is important. It sucks cause some dudes will lose out on a ton of money, but this is what the players union agreed to.

The issues that Julius and fans had was the season before. This past season there were no issues. The 12-2 record when OG showed up shows how valuable Julius is. They weren’t just winning close games, they were dominating teams during that run. They will be fine

Knicks fan here. I use to hate Julius when he was immature and couldn't face that NY pressure but now I absolutely love. You gotta understand that there were totally different dynamics in each of his 5 seasons here. The culture is much better now in this Brunson era and every new addition just seemingly works so well. With less pressure on Randle, the more confidence he will have to play at an all-star level even with this stacked lineup.

As a former Randle hater, I can honestly say , we fans believe in his desire to win, his work ethic, his talent; and now for me at least, he also showed he has already begun to address his deficiencies, has his ego in check, knows its Brunson's team, and is happy to play a role. There is no need to trade Randle. Knicks are only one solid C away from being certified frontrunners to be in the finals for the next 5+ years.

It's not about whose team it is. That's media propaganda. Smh. A healthy Randall is giving us 24 10 7. With a full healthy squad, Brunson won't (need) to average 30. Before Randall got hurt, brunson was averaging 25 and Randall was getting triple doubles. We're going to be one of the fastest teams in transition with the #1 defense in the league. Most of our wins will be blowouts. I doubt brunson will be the #1 option (out of necessity).

facts. we hated him in his second/third year when he was getting all emotional and worked up when his shots weren't falling or turning the ball over. we would get on him all over social media for it and he couldn't handle it. ever since brunson came in, his attitude changed so much and his joy for the game came back. knicks fans want nothing more than playing with heart and showing love to fans whether or not you have an off day.

Nah its the circumstances. I'm telling you right now if they managed to even win a single title in the next 2 to 3 years he will be a legend in new york like Gilbert knew whats the reward waiting for brunson if he somehow did the impossible. How are those Laker teams relevant? The dude broke his leg at 19 then left Lakers at 22 years old… I think maybe his 3 allstar appearances after he left show some development? 26, 11, and 6 assists. Not bad! Knicks will try to win as a team but Randle is basically the 2nd option. Because he draws double teams due to his size. Wings cant guard him. And a lot of tall guys are too slow

The biggest key to take away is that Brunson took a pay cut and I’m sure Randle appreciated it. Throughout the season - the media tried to start drama between them. Brunson made a loud statement - he trynna win - f the money

You could even have Bridges come off the bench as a 6th man leading the second team. Randle with Brunson is a problem for other teams. We needed Randle for offense b/c there was too much pressure on Brunson to generate offense. I'm excited to see all the different rotations we got in our pocket.

I like Randle, but I agree. He’s probably better off being moved to another team. Wonder if they could package Randle and picks to go after BOTH Markkanen and/or Kessler. Gives them a great rotation of bigs that won’t disrupt Brunson’s game. And that money Brunson left on the table makes sense being used on Lauri.
