@@asaadmuhammad7364 Doesn't make him an expert. That just makes him a former NBA player. Kendrick Perkins has years of NBA experience, would you consider him an expert?
I was thinking the same thing lol. I think people are confusing a comp with a prediction. He was just talking skillset wise and he wasn't far off. Stanley Johnson ended up being a bust but his ceiling and skillset was potentially Caron Butler. Winslow as Artest makes sense. Most of them did.
@@helloman3676 well Kristaps isn’t on the team cause he was over the Knicks bs, but justice ain’t on the heat cause he was just trash. So yea I think they made the right pick😂
So many people are taking the comparison as a prediction for their career when he’s actually only talking about skill set. And when you look at it that way these aren’t bad
Kostas Petropoulos they don’t have to be on the exact same level to be comparable. If you watched Wayne Ellington with the Heat and Duncan Robinson now it looks basically the exact same. Obviously Ellington isn’t the player Duncan is though. Rasheed is one of the leaders in technical fouls all time, Bobby plays with his eyes bulging out his face and broke his own teammate’s face before. Both 6’10. Both would stretch it out. To say there’s no similarities is not true
@@KCEgamer Their differences are greater than their similarities. Stating they're the same height doesn't take an expert. Sheed was a 4-time all star and Portis will probably never be one. They're on a different level so the comparison wasn't successful imo
Kostas Petropoulos Both very intense big men who can fill it up and stretch the floor. Like I said don’t have to be on the same level to be comparable. PJ Tucker and Dennis Rodman are comparable even if PJ will definitely never be in the hof and Rodman is
5 years later: Cam Payne is known for his unique dance move on the sideline before tipoff Sam Dekker will always be remembered as a player who's stumbling and mumbling as the ball hit his face and out of bound at MSG
Myles Turner to Bosh was ridiculous. Just because he can stretch the floor, suddenly Rose jumped to the conclusion to Bosh ignoring the fact that Turner is much more defensive-minded.
Not really. Booker has more of an on ball game. Klay is better off the ball. And also Booker is only similar to Klay on half the court. Klay plays defense.
@@justinkinzle8061 At that time they were the same now its different cause the allowed Devin Booker to grow while klay a second option and doesnt need to do the stuff dbook do now cause he got steph
A lot of these are actually spot on for how we saw them in college. Obviously we think about prospects different in college than what they actually become.
I like the comparisons for KAT, Jah, Myles Turner, and I guess he was right about Winslow being better than some higher picked players (like uh... Mario Hezonja lol)
Glad to see people defending the picks, if only because comps can refer to style similarities and probably do so more than talent. It would be cool if they chose a style comp and a talent comp.
Devin booker and the klay Thompson comparisons are kinda deadly accurate. Both are pure shooters, both can take over a game at any given moment. but Offensively booker is better because he can create shots for himself and others. Which klay is more of a spot up shooter and is better playing off the ball. And yeah klay is better defensively only because he doesn’t have to worry about carrying the load offensively every single game unlike booker
Tbh these are fair comparisons considering most of them didn’t even turn out like the player they was compared too. Like it wasn’t completely ridiculous
Booker to Klay comparison is not bad, but two different players. Klay is the ultimate supporting cast for contender like Pippen... Booker is not the defender Klay is, but he is definitely better scorer and much better creating his own shot.
@@silewis9396 Towns played PF back in college and he also was expected to play PF once he got drafted. He did play PF in several games during his rookie year when Nikola Pekovic was healthy. But after Wolves knew that Pekovic will never back to his full form and such an injury prone, they decided to play Towns at the 5 full time, in hope they could fix his defense. Putting Towns at 5 is not Wolves main intention but they totally have no option. They drafted Justin Patton to pair with KAT but Patton was injured the whole his rookie season. There is also no so many free agents want to come to Minnesota. But it seems like one of Twolves plans is to sign Myles Turner so KAT can go back to play at PF.
@@ivanott7196 First of all Towns was not expected to be a PF you can look at his draft day or his profiles where there's no mention of this. Secondly Pekovic started 3 games alongside him simply because he was paid a lot before his injuries while Patton or nobody else has since. Aside from all that Dirk was initially fluid enough to be looked at as a SF more than Towns was a PF. Towns is too slow footed let alone the pull up jumper Dirk had that makes the comparison bad
Seeing him in college, Ewing was the perfect comparison but Towns's defense is not really up to the expectation. After 6 years, the closest comparison is actually Dirk Nowitzki.
Brook Lopez wasn’t a bad comp for Okafor. But Brook expanded his game to shoot 3 and actually started playing defense. If he can do it, so can Okafor hopefully.
Some of these are pretty good, but I don't see how anyone could be compared Delon Wright to Jordan Clarkson or Hezonja to Parsons. Clarkson has never played defense, Wright does all the little things. Strange. Hezonja was a super athletic slashing wing, while Parsons is a skills based, combo forward with plus playmaking. Double strange. Jalen nailed Winslow being better than several guys drafted ahead of him, but that's more due to those guys not being very good.
