This video makes me miss and more appreciate my homeland Jamaica....I am happy that you have made it your home and like it there.....the culture and the people are amazing.
You're so right. We, as Jamaicans take our clean environment and good, healthy food for granted. I also love that I can drink water directly from the tap.
I also moved to Jamaica. I fell in love with her in 1975. I was born on the wrong island coming from Scotland. After many years of life in the cold of Canada I moved to where my heart is. Cheers to Jamaica, paradise!

Girl, winter or not... you selling Jamaica even to us Jamaican🇯🇲 that's what the Country needs, people to promote and stand up for Jamaican whatever the circumstances! Up, up, up.... Thank you
I always try to explain to locals that Jamaica is a really amazing place. But I guess people need to experience some of the challenges of other nations and regions before they can begin to appreciate a country like Jamaica. Like clean water, fresh air and good/fresh food. Good job, Irina.
Jamaican living in Jamaica here. I'm gonna have to bookmark this video to remind myself of why I've chosen to stay here because sometimes I do wonder. Thank you for this and Welcome to Jamaica!

I'm a Jamaican, currently living in Canada. I love everything about Jamaica except for the fact that it always seems like those who dare to take a chance to better themselves often suffer by putting a target on their backs. As soon as you get noticed for doing well and succeeding, jealous people will try to take away what you have worked so hard for. The VAST majority of Jamaican people are honest, good folk, but the few who are bad minded can be monsters.
I have spent a lot of time in Jamaica and I find what you say to be true sometimes. Forget the fact that one puts in the effort to start a business, some Jamaicans hate to see others get ahead and have things they don't.

EVERYTHING, you said about Jamaican people, is so. Even while living here abroad for nearly forty years, I find that most of us, do not change, in relation to the things you said. We are some of the nicest, most loyal to a fault, kind of people, but don't cross us. We will tell you the truth about yourself and then we leave you alone, unless of course, there is a way to forgive and "forget." Make sure to be an enhancement to our little island. Peace, and one love.

You spoke truth about us and the only reason many of us left our country is financial opportunity. Things are now changing and many of us are moving back home if not we go home regularly.
Funny...I returned home for the SAME reasons. Work online 4 days per week. It's a pity most JAMAICAN s dont realize we can live here like kings and queens on less than $1000 usd per month.
I was already proud, but this just confirms it even more. Bless up. Left as a child in early 70s, but my love of Country remains intact. Nah'change'fiih'nuh'baddi. ❤💚💛❤💚💛

@@kev9385 Australia is a fantastic country and indeed has wonderful nature. However, here are the reasons why I didn't choose Australia: 1. It's too hot in summer and too cold in winter in most parts of Australia, except the very north (where it's just.. too hot). People in Sydney wear sweaters in July... and there is no central heating anywhere, same problem in NZ by the way. 2. There are dangerous currents and marine life which makes it difficult to do free diving. 3. It's very expensive to rent anything in Australia, so for the money I'd spend on renting a house in Jamaica, I can rent a studio at the outskirts of Sydney. 4. Australia has major problems with skin cancer, My husband and I both have relatives who had cancer, not willing to add the extra risk. 5. it's difficult to run any business in Australia due to crazy competition from the Asian market and I never wanted to apply for a job, so there was no way for me to earn 6 figures. So... nope, Australia wasn't a good option for me in the end 😢but it can be an EXCELLENT option for somebody who is looking for a higher standard of living and good salary! :)

Hey.. I really enjoyed this video.. thank you for sharing.. I am a jamaican living in Canada and I'm inching to move back for all the same reason... one thing about jamaicans is that we accepts anyone with open arms as long as they accept us.. nuff respect.
It's very curious that some of us Jamaicans don't really appreciate our country that much, it take somebody like you from outside to come and tell us how beautiful our country and people are. However I am glad you chose Jamaica out of all the other countries to live. Bigup yuself.
Thank you! It is often a case when people get used to their own country from childhood and don't stop to see what they really have. I'm guilty of that too (I need to appreciate Ukraine more!), but this is just human nature...
No matter what country you live in you always think other countries are better than yours...when you finally leave your country then you start missing home... human nature like she said.....l
Its not like we dont know its just that a good portion of us cant afford to live here that plus the crime in some urban areas having them fear criminals too much to notice and take in the beauty .

Thank you for speaking so positively about our country. We live in Canada but go home every year to our homes People speak about the crime in Jamaica but never speak about the positive qualities.
I blushed with pride to hear you speak about the Land of my birth the way you do. As a culture, we know who we are, but I always wonder about others' perceptions.
I too am in the process of wanting to move to Jamaica.. I am actually coming November 17th. Jamaica is absolutely the most beautiful country that I've ever been to. The food the culture the people people it has always been my favorite place and always my goal to wind up there. Nothing has ever topped Jamaica.. I vacation there twice a year and when I leave I find myself depressed for weeks I cry like a big giant baby for the 1st couple of days after I leave. My heart belongs in Jamaica. I appreciate everything that the country offers. I want to live off of the land. I have made some really good friends over the last several years. The people in Jamaica are absolutely the most wonderful humans.

Great expose on the things that make Jamaica Jamaica. I have had many friends from other countries living in Jamaica and they all feel the positivity of the Island Vibes. Jamaica welcomes all.
She is 100% correct about everything she said about Jamaica. I’m a Jamaican living in the USA and I didn’t realize what we had in Jamaica is way more ahead of the USA. For instance most people in the US don’t believe a woman is capable of being a US President. And when I hears people saying that America is not ready for a woman president, I was like damn this country is backwards than I even know. Jamaica have been on the forefront of a number of Global political changes in the world from very long time. Jamaica was one of the first to say no, they are not going to be doing business with South Africa during the Apartheid movement’s until the whites minorities stop Apartheid and the oppression of the blacks natives of that African country. It’s not just Reagan Musics, Bob Marley, Marcus Garvey, nice beaches, very fast runners, or Miss World, good food and many other things. We have our own share of problems, but that Island south of Cuba is one of the most remarkable place on earth to be and to live.
Glad I left America and came home. I rather deal with Jamaica problems than other places problems. Jamaica has been gooooooooood to me since I came home 💛💛🖤🇯🇲

I would chose Jamaica over any other country! I understand. My peace of mind is beyond anything I have ever experienced when I am there. I feel at home. The environment for me does that to you. Im preparing myself for my departure from the states.
JAMAICA WITH IRIE I am not. I was born in the U.S. but love traveling also. Jamaica has been my go to country. I have been there 5 times in the past year. Portland is my second home. Do you mind if I shoot you an email? I just followed you on instagram also.
@@earlvickers6797 Everybody has different values. As for crime - I'll make a separate video about it later, because there are so many people who have no idea what the situation is really like. Yes, I would lock the doors at night because this is common sense in ANY country in the world 🤷♀️, but most people who live in the hills in Jamaica - don't even have door locks and no, they don't lock their doors. Portland has had next to zero crime rate for years... so, what's your point? However, if you want to play a game "try this at home", sure, I can play it too: 1. Jamaicans often leave their car in the city center with engine running and go to a shop and nobody would steal the car. Try that in the USA. 2. Black Jamaicans can sit outside along the street doing nothing and there wouldn't be a policeman coming to them to ask question. Try that in the USA (actually, don't, because you might get killed) I mean, come on... out of all the countries, the USA is one of the worst examples when it comes to crime and racism, unfortunately. As for Argentina - I actually considered Argentina for a few years, especially that there are many Ukrainians living there. HOWEVER, the major problem there is this crazy unstable economy and multiple currency devaluations, which is a huge issue if you want to run a business. I had enough of these problems in Ukraine, so I didn't want to have them again. Jamaican dollar is not a strong currency either, but at least the economy has shown a steady growth of 1% per year, low but steady. But yeah, let's see what will happen with this covid thing now.. Anyway, thank you for the comment and sharing your opinion, I appreciate it!
@@earlvickers6797 Actually, I'm a business person and I'm very much PRO capitalism. I like the USA and I even stayed there for some time. I lived in LA, California and then I lived in Maui, Hawaii... I'm also planning to come back to the USA to continue my work on IT project in San Francisco, because it is the best place for it. So, your assumption about me is simply wrong, I'm afraid. If you want to know my ideology - you could have just asked. My ideology - I don't care about ideologies and I certainly don't care about politics. What I care about is the truth, supported with facts, instead of opinions. And no, I don't have any hatred towards USA, or any other countries, as a matter of fact! I have a lot of American friends and I like the USA, but simply for other reasons than safety. I mean... do you really think that the USA is the safest country in the world? And yes, there are bars on every house in cities in Jamaica. And you forgot to mention - there is also barb wire on many walls, even the ones surrounding schools and kindergardens (!). However, do you know WHY? Did you take the time to do the research on this subject? Or you're just making assumptions again? I could never understand people who make judgements about others instead of asking them a question. For example, my question to you - why do you even care about Jamaica if you don't like it, you don't live here and don't want to have anything to do with it?
They wouldn't even know girl how amazing it is to live free in a country that you have no government dictating or forcing you to live your life they want you to live it. Bless up love the video
This is wonderful. I have family all over the island and my visits are never really "touristy" - but this is why I love it and consider it home away from home. My family is Jamaican, and one of my favorite things about Jamaica, is the people. One Love.
