Singer, not hunting the glory & fame, singer who sings for his soul and heart, singer who sing with emotions, he can make you smile, he can make you cry, he can make you sing! Best Singer and songwriter in our universe. Emotional guy, friendly man, person who makes you belive in heaven! Ladies and gentelmans JAMES BLUNT !
There is NOTHING that Mr. Blunt can't perform -- as either a CD/digital release or concert performance -- that does not lift our hearts and illuminate our lives. He is without question central to the pantheon of Great Artists!
it seems like this song means a lot to him. i always wanted to understand its meaning and so i looked for the music video. i watched it, and i had to start to cry. now i understand.
Cudowna melodia , slow nie znam niestety. Nie znam angielskiego . A szkoda bardzo . Bardzo nastrojowa i pewnie mowi o milossci niespelnionej . Nie wiem . Tylko gdybam. Dziekuje
I appreciate that these people like him... it's just a damn shame so many of them haven't a clue what it means to have to 'carry (someone) home'. I'm an American and, when I think of all those carried back home-whether to their home in America, Britain, Australia, Iraq, Afghanistan, wherever, because of absolutely needless violence and war, (and most of it caused by war criminals in OUR government, I want to cry. James is an actual war hero, having, as a 'mere' Captain, actually stood up to one of the loony Generals in our very own military (he, himself, is British) and more than less, saved us from WW lll. He may not agree with me but, somehow, I believe he would. Sadly, so many who served think those who didn't or couldn't serve (for MANY reasons they won't bother to ask about) have no 'say' in such matters. To American soldiers who would say such a thing to my face, I would ask them; "Just who's freedom DID you fight for?"
Uh.., yea, John, I got that. My comment was on unnecessary war and, in the case of the war discussed here, a nearly disasterous escalation. But I perhaps left, unintentionally, the impression I did not agree with American involvement in the Balkan's war; that would be wrong. We -with allies- were all that stopped -but didn't prevent the start- of yet another Holocaust. I'm going to say, at this moment in history, I fear very much that there approaches time -sooner than later- when America needs someone to save it from such horrid crimes. We will then need all the James Blunts we can afford to feed and arm. And I suggest James because it is so obvious he does not -did not- run with only offense and battle on his mind. We -all peace loving people on Earth- MUST find both soldiers, commanders and civilian leadership who realize perpetual war wins fools only the dead and debris. And someday, there will be too much of both to ever recreate what was lost.
taliwakka, If I understood that, I'm sure I'd find it funny. I admit, if I'm cluing in at all, I do put the go in my writing at times. Too bad I lost my born American -turned Australian- opal miner, translator mate who had dumped the U.S. after barely physically (anyway)surviving as a parachutist in Vietnam. It was years before he returned -which is when I met him- and I didn't know he WASN"T a native of the Outback. His favorite comment on War, "No comment. Fuck you very much Johnson and Nixon"). When here to visit his family, he would only camp in our yard in his American VW Bus, turned cabin on wheels away from his Australian cabin on wheels. Best damn coffee I'll never get again. I still have a nice box of opal chips he gave me for my art projects. Miss ya Mate!
It's from the film the rock. Look for ed Harris' speech about why he's take the hostages. Forget I said anything, I'm out of my depth here. But still, your blinding courage aside, don't be one of those jarheads who thinks they know every political reasoning and justification for all that bollocks. You're just a brave respectable man who's probably been kept intensely in the dark as far as I would guess
seems to be the most heartfelt (or whatever the fuck the equivalent on this story of stage would be) vocal I've found in his live versions so far. truly geniusly poignant song
it looks like this song means very much to him. and i always wanted to understand its meaning. one night i heared it and i started to cry. now io understand it...

One of the rare singers that sound better live then in studio. No matter if he's acting emotions like this or not, he is the master at it. James Blunt, if you had wings, you would fly away.
