Letting go of someone you've become so close to is one of the hardest experiences in life, Dreaming about them, never really stopping loving them but want them to be happy, Litteraly walking through hell just to know they are happy. His emotion only adds to the turmoil i feel in myself thinking about watching someone so close just walk away.

It gives me goosebumps when the crowd starts singing the chorus, and then it gets gradually louder and louder, with James Blunt mouthing the words to the chorus while the audience sings it. It makes you think that something sad/powerful happened in his life.

Perhaps it's because Jame's been through a sad experience as such. Hence remembers how it made him feel and this is why he can sing with such conviction. I've just lost my husband so recently. This song just takes the words right out of my soul... Goodbye my love. :(

I saw him live about 2007 when all these songs were about, he was great. I don't know what happened to him after about 2009, he seems to have just disappeared.

This performance is so heart-wrenching. Regardless of opinions of James Blunt as a person, or whatever, no other song touches the core as much as this one, it would seem. Anyone who has loved a person truly and lost them for whatever reasons, this will instantly connect & carry those feelings. I'm not sure that's a good thing. Either way, it's a beautiful performance and a very touching song.
