Yes, that's his dad with him in the video. When he says 'I'm not your son, you're not my father' it was because he wanted to say his piece not as a son, but as one human being to another. I heard this was the first time James had sung this song to his father, so you can understand the emotion and the tears. Both men are former officers in the British military. I also read somewhere that James refused to use 'Auto-Tune' despite the record company insisting, and what you see is a wonderful example of raw reality. What a beautiful song, delivered so amazingly and so powerfully. Thank God his father managed to find a donor for his kidney which was full of cancer and his condition was diagnosed as terminal.

@@SandraSampsonColdfeet You are most welcome :) Just on a side note he was in the British Army ( Captain) and was given the privilege of being an Honor guard to the Queens mother when she died and was laid in state. His father who is in the video was also a high ranking officer in the British army also. Thanks for the video its amazing
Thats his father in the video, he had stage 4 liver desease and they couldnt find a doner💔 after this was released a doner came forward and he had a transplant. I hear he's quite poorly again...
