yes yes YES!!!! my favorite James f'sho! circa '68-71-ish... then around Payback and his film soundtracks he went bak to his process... i never dug his process look... oh well... love james n sammy...
True, although James treated his band and Bobby Byrd very badly on the way up. I love his music but I wish he hadn't done that. Bobby rescued him from prison - if it wasn't for his efforts James might never have been anything but a bum and yet he greedily took most of the money made from records they wrote together.
Alot people dont realize that there was a time when Sammy was considered by many to be greatest all-around entertainer in the world. He really and could do it all!
Sammy grew up in a time and culture when talent and years of hard work just might put you ahead of the game. He had the talent, and the discipline to put in those years of work. And it did pay off for him.
@@youwatch2muchtv That's when James was past his prime besides, they both danced differently, they both sang differently, pretty much everything they did was different, so there is really no true way to compare them. They were both different but exceptional performers regardless, especially in their prime.
@@mzkokoismyname7630 Yes, Really. Why is that so hard to believe. I have an immense amount of admiration for these 2 artists. Tbh, I forgot about my original comment from 3 years ago and was actually getting ready to make a very similar comment just now, but I saw that I had already expressed those exact feelings 3 years prior 🤷🏾♂️
They got actual entertainers with charisma. The quality of them significantly decreased. Whoevers in charge of admitting these people in the music industry is shit and most likely corrupt.
Priceless!Absolutely priceless!Sammy Davis & James Brown on stage together.Natural showmen, the best!Nothing today compares to that-not even these rap artists.Glad I was around long enough to experience some of this outstanding talent.
"Man !!!".... Positive vibes, Performance givers, Humour transmitters, Love, Enjoyment, Sincerity. Kinship, Brotherly kindness, Sharing talents, Heartfelt faith and support in giving us what we do not give each other, any appreciation for the message behind these performances that we cannot re-produce in equal measure. Yet, we bring out new music due to lack of musical talented ideas and make enemies of our own people, who try to make an honest living out of what they have been given, when all we need to do is to "share a smile and appreciate one another", because music seems to bring us "Together". Narrated by myself, off the cuff, just by watching this video (LSM). Because, they have God. I've never seen this video - Thanks YTube
I grew up listening to ALL of JB's catalog thanks to daddy. I always thought the camel walk was a dance my daddy made up til today😂 MEMORIES! RIP to daddy, JB, & Sammy ❤ Thanks for sharing
I'm 39 and its 2019. I remember seeing these icons on my grandmother's television and just amazed by the talent. Then coming up with Michael Jackson, Prince, luther, jodeci, Maxwell, baby face! I'm blessed to say I witness great artists. Now unfortunately I don't follow music because I feel like real love songs and feel good music is dead. I pray for these young souls who will never witness greatness like this.
Soul brothers, where has that kind of unity gone. Even two heavyweights such as these bruhs, seemingly from opposite sides of the spectrum understood there roles.
Booker T. Washington & Marcus Garvey were considered opposite ends of the spectrum as well but both wanted the same outcome for the culture and actually kept a correspondence of respect with one another despite seeing things differently.
James was bad-ass! He looked great, too. But, Sammy is my main man. I love them both. They had more talent in their little finger than most of today's "artists." James and Sammy were true entertainers.
It's almost a religious experience. The organic spontaneity is off the hook.Others may learn it, and learn it well but nobody but nobody will ever feel it like James Brown.
