The Jackson 5's 1968 Motown audition video features a 9 year old MJ doing a spot on James Brown performance of his 1968 song "I Got The Feeling". MJ has publicly given credit to his inspiration, Mr. James Brown.

JB's influence is enormous. He's not only the Godfather of Soul, but he is the creator of the sub genre of soul, Funk, and also influenced the birth of hip hop. He was a huge influence on both Michael Jackson and Prince.

I Love James Brown........ sometimes his singing is underrated..... but Listen to his earlier recordings He could sing.... Check out Kiss in 77, Bewildered, Try me, Prisoner of Love, I Love you yes I do...... to name a few......there's others.

i ve been a james brown fan for over 57 years and im 61 now, and i tell you there were no one was making music with the BEAT, but one man, in the music world, mj and prince was not the only one who learned from him the hole Soul and R&B bands learned from his, WATCH Soul Train videos of him watch The Tammy Show, and your eyes will be opened....
