Maaaaan let me tell you something, I've been a very huge fan of James Brown since 1995, and I was only a baby listening to James Brown for the very first time, bobbin my little head and everything 😂😂😂
When Eddie Murphy made fun of James's speech pattern back in the day a lot of us laughed and I don't know why. We all know good and damned well we got at least one uncle who sounds just like James Brown lol.
This was from Zaire in 1974 the concert with a lot of different acts days before the Ali/Foreman fight. For the documentary they cut out the beginning of the payback and went right into the main part of the song. He was 41 here by the way.
You see he took off his long coat before he started singing, that's his cue that I'm gettin to work, The Hardest Working Man ln Show Business Ck out James Brown Live In London that concert is Off The Hook too.
at the time i just turn 18.he had reached his peak.after that "Disco"was slipping in and it was kind of over not just for him but all like him(WilsonPicket, temptation, etc).
To my taste (and my regret...) NONE of his performances of this track were (in sound quality) better than the original recording... That's the 'grief' I have with some Artists... They get a massive Hit with a song or album and then they go on stage and lose sight of their originality of how they put together the original song. You CANNOT improve on perfection.
