I am very surprised to hear you say that you did not know James could dance. He had some very fancy foot work. Michael Jackson based many of his moves on Browns footwork and he said Brown was a major influencer on his dancing. You should take a look at some of the videos of James dancing. AMAZING

James Brown played that concert in association with the legendary boxing match between Muhammad Ali and George Foreman that came to be called "The Rumble in The Jungle". Zaire doesn't exist anymore. Hey Twins, if you want to see James Brown at his absolute best, check out his performance from the T.A.M.I. show in 1964. This was a concert that featured many great artists, but James Brown & the Famous Flames were by far the showstoppers. Word is that he was the next to last act to perform, a move that the Rolling Stones (the last performers) greatly regretted. If, as you say, you didn't know JB could dance, prepare to have your minds blown--guaranteed.

When it comes to Dancing, James Brown influenced everyone from Michael Jackson to Prince to Bobby Brown to Usher to Chris Brown. His influence carried over from one generation to the next. Not to mention his influence on music itself. Many rap-hiphop artists would not have had the careers they had without the influence and the use of samples of James Brown.

James Brown is the FOUNDATION of Soul, Funk and Hip Hop. In the mid 80’s, when the DJ at the club Plaza Suite in Brooklyn would play “Give It Up Or Turn It Loose” (which was already 15 years old then), we girls would just move to the side because the B-Boys would take over the floor and do their thing 🔥.
