the liner is made of Teflon usually and put in to haul asphalt, so it slides out easily and doesn't stick and build up load after load. the cracks in the floor are because it wasn't designed to haul stones, rocks, or dirt. the floor wound be thicker for those kinds of loads.

I'm not going against you, but you husband is the guy who has to service this Equipment. He sees stuff, small stuff you might miss. Love the walk through you Two do. You might look at a big Rig and think it's OK. Your Husband is the one who finds the little things. So glad you show this stuff up for sale. I have brought many things to there yard.

We put bed liners in our 40 foot rock trailer's but we never hauled asphalt just sand, rock & sometimes grain .

The Hurst Olds W/30 is a collector car. Very cool car

Bed liners can be a pain in the rear, when they get some age. They have atendency to creep backwards, and interfere with tailgate closing. For asphalt, it takes a different one, to tolerate the heat. Also, once they begin separating from the bed floor, the floor rusts, badly often.

The liner is called a slip sheet to stop material sticking to your bin and yes material does get under the slip sheet in New Zealand we cart soil one way and return with metal slip sheet helps keep bin clean especially since we need a clean bin for metal only way to clean under slip sheet is high pressure hose

With the ford pick up you could use it to move a mini excavator around which you could hire out on a self drive basis..I use to have some of those not a bad side line to go with your dirt trucking business...

Maybe that 98 KW would be a good choice if you could get it cheap enough. It looked like it had plenty of frame to put a box on and those pre-emission series 60 are very reliable.

Nice that it has an 18 speed but looked like the exhaust system malfunction light was on. Its probably about ready for a rebuild too at 800000+ miles

as a welder over 40 years i have replaced many dump box floors it rather cheap other then labor, i pick up used press sheets from the OSB mills for $25 to $30 for there coffee fund, there 6.5 feet wid x 16.6 long x just over 1/8 inch thick they start off at 3/16 but the steel is so hard know shop will shear it or bend it, id yoy bend a corner you have to heat it up red hot and beat th hell out of it, it really holds up in the floor far better then factory, but you have to weld it with 8019 rod, no mig

My 6.0 powerstroke is a 05 f250 and it’s been very good to me just do your oil changes and preventive maintenance on it and not abused it will last u along time mine is down do to a water pump but after it’s fixed I’m gonna get back to towing and being my daily driver ohh and another thing get a tuner with gauges so u can monitor Egts and oil and coolent temps oh and change the oil cap every 6 months Cuse it loses its temper and won’t no longer hold pressure

If Your and your Husband did install hyrail equipment. (SO you can run on Railway tracks ..that be a fun video for your Railway Fans...and be a exciting market for your trucking Company...Not many trucking Companies can do this...There are a couple tourist Railways near you that wishes they had use of a Ballast hyrail dump 🚚 truck ...Boy if you had chains so the rear gate only open about 4 -5 " and Since your dump truck is 8' wide ..you would make beautiful Railway ballast job fast and easy.....Oh and we are proud of you and Your mechanic Husband.. Hey, I'm an equipment operator too so I thought I'd drop by and leave a comment.

I would be more concerned about the low oil pressure than the temp gauge that doesn’t work, or a crack in the dump bed r that can be welded.

She says she's in love with the equipment. We in the industry call it equipment drunk. It's a thing. Maintenence expense, interest expense, etc. can eat into margins if profitable work doesn't follow.

As for the pickup, if you're going for the used truck route, go for the truck with the best mechanical condition possible, in other words, take your hubby's word seriously.

They are called plastic liners they take a great beating rather than your expensive steel floor and a lot CHEAPER to replace

Those plastic liners are the way to go, for just about everything, especially for asphalt, you can put a little diesel fuel on it 🤫 and everything will come out nonstick better then Pam on a nonstick skillet. However, if the bottom of the bed is already warn out like on that truck, it’s not a very good idea, the plastic liner will bust all to hell especially on a real cold morning! Putting a plastic liner on a bed like that is like putting a Band-Aid on a gun shot wound, it’s not gonna help much at all, it’s best to put those down on a new floor, but we have put them on good used seal, and aluminum floors, and it does the trick. You want to keep them sealed good, and not let Materials or aggregates get under the liner, or it will defeat the whole purpose of having it. Once the plate it put in, its not that hard to change them, the company will usually do a free Installation, if not you can hook a 4 x 4 pick up at all it out for the new one in then take a torch on heat it without scorching it. But if your floor is thin or looks like that, the company will not stand behind it, and if you think about it, it makes perfect sense. Be about like changing the liners in a million mile engine, then use the old piston and rings. Lol

Instead of getting a new vehicle you might consider a certified used car. You won’t loose that initial depreciation as soon as you drive it off the lot!

Me? I would check out that Blue Crown Vic for $5 or $600 bucks. (a cheap to keep, safe ride) Also saw a COE, Isuzu, way better the that F350, or Ram, my wife loved, and misses ours even as a grocery getter. We put a dually/dump pick up bed on the back of ours. For those "we just need a little" jobs. Lots of fun toys, just don't over buy.

The thing in the red pete was your on board scale for weight! It wasn't working cause you didn't turn it on and let it cycle and thier wasn't anything in the box! You should put one in the t800! It well dave your ass from getting overweight tickets lol

You could make money with an F-350. Start your own "Doordash" type company hauling building supplies from Lowes, Home Dept, etc..

So that red dump truck with those holes in the bed stopped you from buying it or was that liner OK you think

A lot of those trucks from aci hauled oar for a mine up in ferry county. They didn't have such an easy life. The company is out of idaho.
