for musicians, marching field shows, or doing parades doesnt start until highschool, but in our area, we start playing wind band music in middle school. Colorguard starts as young as elementary.
Percussion starts around middle school, winter percussion that is. They compete in WGI every year. Our school is the only highschool in Union City, with 3 middle schools that fuel the band. And everyone who enrolls in band in James Logan, is required to do marching band. Usually our size is 250+
@kcee2 . well i must admitt u guys r great i would luv 1 day 2 go n watch u guys perform , im in a band 2 the pittsburg marching band , were more of a high steepin band .
well band in our hs is optional, youre not forced to take it. But yest 3 middle schools, and the middle school drumlines are formed as a whole, so anyone wanting to do it can sign up for it. so its 1 middle school drumline and 1 hs drumline, but you have to tryout for the hs one
I agree with yadadaCHARLES. Keeping the crowd entertained isn't a caption in the judging panel, technical things like synchronization from all parts of the field are what they're looking for.
I never realized it til now. The girl in the guard didn't make it obvious, it looked like she was going through the motions and her rifle just dropped.
but i mean like as musicians elementry schools and middles school doing little city parade geting the hang of being a performer on the feild then they get to hs and they do the feild shows and what not is it like that in the logan area??
nah, i mean sure the colorguard/ percussion get an early start, but its not enough to say hey, were marching band level marchers. Freshman year is when everyone starts at level one, and its where all the technique is taught.
I don't agree. The scores were really close between Ayala, Mission Viejo, and Logan in many areas. And as of the colorguard, there were many key components that got them such a high score, like the story they told, and they did some pretty hard stuff during the show. Logan has a really great program. They music is insane.
daumn soo if u have band in middles school u have to take to band in hs soo theres three middle schools right and three differ drumlines soo when they get tp highschool the try outs are tough to be in drumline
idk cos i was up in the other side of the bleachers, everything seemed fine to me, but i couldn't really pay attention cos i was filming. you can believe whatever you want, but when it comes down to it the judges always have the last say over anyone and they believed Logan deserved the win.
I guessI guess, but visuals and keeping the audience entertain doesn't really mean anything compared to music, executing formations, and the aux. staying together. but its whatever , its over. ahaha
