"Richard Hammond effectively has a bigger house than the rest of us because he's smaller." Savage but also true and hilarious. Definitely an awesome dude. Would love to see him do stand-up.
Matt man it takes 10+ years to get your voice as a comic and 20+ to be an actual comedian, Seinfeld himself says “Your number of years performing stand up is your age in standup aswell, if you’ve been doing it for three years you’re three years old”
I know that some people don't like James May, because he goes on with everything for hours. But i could listen to this guy talk about anything for hours!
I like them all the same but James me definitely has a swag out of the other two... Richard Hammond has the quirkiness and funniness. And then Jeremy Clarkson is just LOL well Jeremy Clarkson
It's one of those things where an intelligent person that knows a great deal of the subject matter can simplify it in great length but that also takes time to explain for people who don't understand. I like listening to May for this reason, the man knows his shit.
But a sloth would find him quite fast! LOL I guess it's all relative. Even when his mates were calling him Captain Slow, he was still driving faster than I've ever gone!
Still he thinks new is better... England used to have Led Zeppelin, Hardy of Alnwick (which was better before), Sweden had Volvo and Saab, Norway had Thor and Odinn, no Christian churches or salmon farming, people used to read Leo Tolstoy and Hemingway, but now they don't even have the attention span to read a Facebook comment longer than two sentences. Now we also just have electric cars with paper mache chassis and underbody, Cardi B and Muslims in non-islamic countries... We used to have amazing rolemodels like Jack Kerouac, and now we have f'n Logan Paul and Jake Paul... And last, but not least: Clarkson, May and Hammon used to run Top Gear..!
PJ Adamson I struggle with this a fair bit, is it bad? Is he going to use his power for evil? I’m not sure, but I keep using he services, I hope I don’t regret it.
Uncouth Behavior He should be on the Joe Rogan podcast Joe: James have you ever tried DMT? James: can't say that I have honestly Joe: here, you should try some. James: oh C0cK
@@AlejjSi He was allergic to seat material in Cornische so he got rid of it. Seems like he really got rid of all front engine cars. Although I was thinking he was still having Phantom that he bought new not long time ago.
No, he fit's in there perfectly. It is, absolutely, what James May is all about. Narcissism. Look at me. Look at me . Listen to me. Listen to me. Believe in me. Believe in what I am telling you.
The Grand Tour should be like this to have a winning formula: Use Amazon for cinematic purposes/journeys, and DriveTribe for vlogs, car reviews and then just having genuine laughter.
James is a normal bloke and when he's done, he'll be done. He'll just want to spend the rest of his days in a shed taking things apart and putting them back together.
He never gets any less awesome does James. His answers to these questions are top class. He's also right about nearly everything being better now. Spot on.
I agree. I don't think any of them hold a grudge against chris Harris as a TG presenter. He is a very knowledgeable person when it comes to cars and motorsports.
Hope your day got better. I've got COVID. Contracted it from the one person who I thought would get super ill from it. She only had a minor cold, I had a fever and a lung infection :(
If this man had a talk show all to his own I would listen to it for hours! Its great hearing him talk motoring but its also interesting and refreshing to hear James talk about other things around it. I could see him doing an amazing podcast.
Thank you so much for asking him about the Suzuki Jimny! Totally took me off guard and made me happy to hear that, I'm awaiting my Jimny delivery here in Aus this week.
@TreeroyJ Meh, just look at their website and you know immediately that it's overproduced and a content vacuum. All the people want is the three guys mucking about, simple really.
Let me just say.. I use to hate diesels, but I saw one reach the quarter mile at around 11 seconds.. My opinions are changing to say the least.. Thank you for sharing your thought.. Just finished watching you guys at the salt flats.. Great amount of work you gentlemen have done.. Seriously, thank you A LOT!!
...as a gearhead, ive always loved the "3 amigos" ...& as a barber of 30 years experience, i love the fact that they do some of these in barber shops! ...awesome!
I have never seen nor heard of this guy before. I watched the whole video and must say he is quite entertaining and a down to earth individual. Thumbs up.
Season 3 has a solid format. The jokes and everything else feels less forced like the previous 2 seasons. Shocking to see that he likes a Swift though.
I do like Captain Slow. "Everything newer is better" YAY! When I went to a certain 'leisure facility' where he'd been recently filming - one of the guys there caught him muttering to himself and he was 'counting frames' to see how much time they'd got left. I love that sort of eccentric O.C.D ness. And yes, I'm also sending my watch back to the repairers - as the counters don't precisely re-set to the right points. These things DO matter...
i also love Suzuki Swift, have it for more than 10 years now. she's still lovely to drive as long as you have proper routine maintenance. Good day to you Mr. May
I wondered if that also meant he watched him on Top Gear? To be clear, I don't mean that in a negative, trying to start something way that fanboys get their jollies from. I was just curious.
He’s not wrong on the 320i. Amazing engine, dynamically capable, comfortable, quiet, fast enough on real roads, and German build quality. It’s without much doubt, the best all-round car you can buy
Hi, enjoyed your relaxed opinions and feedback especially as [ in my opinion ] you are the most intelligent and least ego-excitable of my favorite automotive trio. Admittedly I did not know about some of the newer cars you commented on but I have to say I am somewhat disappointed that you left out two very rare American automobiles the 1981-1988 Cadillac Cimarron, and the innovative 1981 Cadillac L62 or more commonly remembered as the V-8-6-4. Phil
One of the surgeons where I worked owned a Ferrari 308. He was a small man and the car fit him like an Italian suit. The problem was the Ferrari was that it was never able to go into reverse. The mechanics would fix it, and it would break, they would fix it, and it would break. I am built like a line backer and too large to fit in the Ferrari, but I ended up pushing that Ferrari into the physician's parking slot. This went on for years!
I love it when car companies bring a hint of the old cars into the modern ones, like they did with the Ford Thunderbird and Jaguar S-Type. Very sexy cars
The only car I've ever owned is the Suzuki Swift GLS 2001. It cost me £300 from Gumtree and the previous owner left it parked up in a garage and kept his dog in it. I love it because it hasn't left me down, the ride is not great and you feel like you've swum the English channel when you have been for a long drive in it because no power steering. Even my friends mock me for having such an old banger. But hearing James say it's his favourite "normal" car, that fills me with pride. I have always known it to be special. It feels like an old friend, and as I'm 21 now i don't think ill be changing it anytime soon. Unless i actually want to survive a car crash. (It's missing air bags).
@@jatnierdorta I have a wife. Your screen name is literally Japanese for socially awkward virgin, I'm sorry that men commenting on beautiful women frustrates you so
Would love to see a video of James and his motorcycle collection! The daily runners, the rare/cool/interesting, the “I’ll definitely finish it one day”s! Sure there’s loads of us who are interested… same with Hammond!
James is played off as the boring one but the more I watch old Top Gear clips the more I notice his little quibs which are sorta in the background but absolutely hilarious
She's eye candy, they deliberately place her in the shot. Same with "in the studio" or "in the tent" Clarkson will be flanked in the shot by young women(Top Gear and Grand tour).
5:00 - 5;33 That's a great idea for an episode. The challenge for the hosts is to make a car that is not in the way when you're not using it (i.e. a lamppost etc.).
