great vid. good stories of hunts and appreciate the extra footage of the moose in their habitat. Way more to hunting than kill shots and dead animals on the ground. Gary
What a great video . I was getting excited just watching I could only imagine how the hunter felt , not knowing if he was getting the green light or not > Excellent video ..Thanks for sharing .
I love your genuine appreciation of moose. You are correct that there much more to moose hunting than just the kill shot. Thank you for sharing the vidro.
Beautiful video before the hunt ! Great job. Wish I was able to just make a hunt with you ! Hell I’d could be the camp cook lol. Really enjoy your stuff !
Another awesome video I can’t believe it’s free thank you for sharing. The extra special footage is over the top I enjoy the beautiful moose in their habitat, still I would like to get out there and hunt one myself. You could have jumped out of the tree and rode that old big boy woohoo. For now I’ll tune into your channel thanks again.
Great video!! My moto is never pass on a bull… hahaha! But I hunt for meat not trophy, that said I would like to find me a nice big bull like that one day!!
Man I dream of hunts like this. Hopefully one day I'll be financially able to afford to go on trips like this one. Hell if I could I would 100% move to Alaska, but unfortunately it's not in the cards right now lol
You’re the guide, you took a guy {Craig} who had minimal to zero experience shooting a moose. You should have been asking him if he was going to shoot or telling him he was well within range to shoot.
See that’s the problem I have with so called guilds. You keep telling clients to pass up on world class animals and then send them home with nothing! You take what god offers you weather it’s the first day or the last period,
Thanks for watching but the problem is it's a really tough decision, it can come back to bite you so hard, being a guide and letting a guy shoot the first moose he sees, then a day later while we are fishing or enjoying the rest of the week you end up seeing 2-3 monsters, then the guide gets labeled trigger happy and just wants to get his client in and out of camp.
Well I have been charged a few times up here in AK, never by a big bull like that. I can personally say you will have crap rolling down both your pant legs.
Craig was allowed to but that the life of a guide, if we shot that on the first day and a few days later we saw a monster, some guys would be like what did you let me shoot such a small moose! Thanks for watching
I beg to differ. Big old bulls know what the game is. They stay high in the basins feeding and fattening up. When they come down to round the cows up they are confident and not rammy like the young bulls. They go easier. They are not tough. Depending on how the meat is cooled and hung, it’s plain old tender as ever. Hunted all my life, still do, and I’m 65 now. Believe me , I’m tender now but just as deadly with the ladies as I was when I was 20. Ha
Sorry but I couldn't handle the non-stop narration of every movement. Not to mention not shooting a bulll that is perfectly broadsided 25 yards what the???
The “comeness, the narration, the relax nature of Deon and the fact that there isn’t any drama is what brings me here watching his videos! Not like most other hunting videos where the guys are making everything sounds like it is the end of the world with drama at every corner…. To each there own! Good job Deon!
I am a hunter and livestock owner. If your trying to improve your your herd you keep your best animals. Shooting your prize bull would make no sense. By removing the biggest bull moose from the gene pool don’t you hurt the herd. The bulls in your video seem to have no fear of humans, like “shooting ducks on the pond”. I would understand if you lived there and were hunting for your families meat supply. I see you as rich white guys who like to shoot animals.
It seems you put your ideas before the clients. What could he have hunted the next 5 or so days. Not good blamingvthe clients clothes when you wouldnt let hin go on instinct. Pretty poor if you have to apologise twice in one video.
