My ex boyfriend and I were sitting in a restaurant one night that wasn't very crowded. At the table next to us were 2 gentleman. One man was complaining about his on-again-off-again girlfriend. How he didn't know what to do and that his heart was broken. His friend looked at him and said nothing but good will come of this. His friend called him an a-hole. He said he didn't understand. His friend laughed and said hear me out. He said look, if you get back together and things work out that's nothing but good. He was a narcissist. 6 counselors and years of therapy taught me I have to look inside myself to find happiness and peace. Every counselor labeled him a narcissist. I will never get those 15 years back or the money he pissed away, etc. I have moved on with a clear conscience. I sleep at night. I'm no longer on antidepressants. @Brandy Presley Exactly! Which is the reason why things like satellite radio (Sirius/XM), Pandora and iHeart radio are going to eventually wind up being the "cause of death" for FM radio stations. Can't say I'm too much of a Jinks fan tho, but then again I'm a big fan of the old school, true traditional-style country. Or anything with a good lap steel guitar sound in it, especially the slower waltz-type songs. Like songs by George Jones, Merle, Willie, Waylon, George Strait, HWJr, and even Hank III, who actually sounds (and even looks) alot like Hank Sr. Hank III's song "Not Everybody Likes Us" is one of my favs for sure.

I've come to the realization that, while we think what we have, or had, was "good", sometimes we have to let it go in order to make room for the "better" or "best" to come along. But try and remember this. "Learn from the past, Live in the present, and Look forward to the future. Meaning, take what you've learned from the past to help guide you through what may lie in the future, and try to make the best out of life today.
