It's a trip of a clip. Interesting fact though. The floor didn't move, the walls did. The whole set was constructed in an unused airport hangar and there were a team of guys that would lift the walls slightly from the outside and move however the director choreographed it. It won the award for best music video back in the day
I was just listening to this on the weekend and thinking this style of music would still be popular today as it was back in the 90s. If he was to release another track today, it would bring a whole new generation of fans.
Jamiroquai has this really reliable groove that makes all their records flow. It might not be the height of anything, but it's really pleasant music. We used to play it on road trips a lot.
Definitely a great video clip, moving room not a moving floor, crazy clever effect. Trip Hop ruled for years, and yes I think it would rate today if re-released. Great attempt at the name, almost spot on by the end. Cheers.
I dont think this bloke ever stopped and still does tonnes of work in the underground music scene. I think most of it is still in England with very little recordings outside of it. I always liked his song Cosmic Girl, but perhaps that was more the cars in the videoclip.
The lead singer, who goes by the name of JK, is the son of Dame Cleo Laine and husband John Dankworth, who are fantastic performers in their own right, so he definitely was born with the right pair of genes on. I’ve always loved his relaxed style of music, and yes, live he really comes into his own.
Cheers Nick! Thought I'd give you a small taste first of Jamiroquai after sending a live video during your live show. Such a great video for 1997 and lyrically this song is spot on with today's world. So many live performances I could send showcasing many parts of this amazing band. Look forward to seeing you react to more. Hopefully some others request a few after seeing this.
He is the funkiest white man alive, honestly thought you would of known him😮 no disrespect but now you got to react to one of his biggest hits “cosmic girl” ❤❤❤
The man behind that early funky Jamiroquai sound was Mr Stuart Zender. Incredible bassist ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3Ydggu0U5Ac.html
Cool thing here is that it's not the floor that's moving. They wanted that first, but building a whole set on hydraulics would've cost way too much money for just one music video (around 300.000 £ back in 1996). So after a little brainstorming they did the next best thing and mounted the walls on wheels. So all the movement you're seeing is around 50 volunteers pushing the whole room around.
Here’s a live performance of ‘Light Years’ from their second album. Watching them live you appreciate how tight the band is ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dbi-iNOIoSw.html
You were close to the correct pronunciation with the last way you said it ending at the 2 minute mark. Last syllable sounds like "qwhy" (and no, the q is NOT silent) So "Jamiroquai" sounds like "Ja-meer-ick-qwhy".
I love your reactions, I cannot find links to PayPal etc to request but I know you have watched Anastacia in the past too! & Jamiroquai & Anastacia did a duet! I would love to see your reaction to that! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iea7-3-wp2c.html
