I just realised Jan is actually very smart. People don't give him credit for that because he talks in a very simple and down to earth way. They think he's strong, slow and stiff. But everything he said was on point and expressed clearly without any fluff. Took his time and didn't rush the punches, waited for Israel to fatigue before taking him to the ground. He used his experience to offset Israel's stand up and get the win. He's a likeable guy, respected by all his opponents. I hope to see Jan defend his belt a few more times
Yeah, people think that because of the language barrier. And the fun part is that many of those people doesn't even know more than 1 language themselves.
That's one thing i noticed about jan in every interview is that he's incredibly smart but in an almost simple and obvious way. Like it's easy for him to see these things and he doesnt overplay it so it doesnt seem as profound as it is

First of Izzy saying “he couldn’t have lost to a better man than Yan” is so awesome, but for Yan to also acknowledge and appreciate those words from one of the best fighters in the sport gave me serious chills. What we witnessed was a show down between 2 greats at the highest caliber in the sport. Only one of them could win, but unexpectedly they both walked out as champions, a champion in defeat and a champion in victory, absolute class!

Him and Stipe are some of the most likeable fighters in the UFC right now. They represent what a real gentleman is. Intelligence, humbleness, and pure class. Media just disrespected Jan to another level in the pre fight pressers, everyone talking about Izzy vs Jon, looking past Jan. Its just awfully good to have him win this fight and rub it in everyone's faces! Lessgo Jan! And also, Izzy is a true champion at heart, never gave any excuses, gave Jan his due and accepted his loss, thats a man right there. What a night of fights!
I have a feeling that Jan was a bit disappointed with this conference. He came with a smile genuinely wanting to celebrate his victory and share his joy, but the last seconds of the interview made me really feel sorry for him. He didn't seem so happy. But I am sure that he will feel much better when he comes back Poland.
Izzy seemed to be the only person to give Jan the respect he deserves. He truly beat Izzy at his own game and proved he is the best LHW in the world. So much respect for both Jan and Izzy. Both true, humble, fantastic champions.
Jan walked through Dominick Reyes and dominated him easily in two rounds. John Jones really struggled to beat Reyes in a 5 round fight. Jones vs Reyes is actually the most disputed fight of 2020. The majority of people think that Reyes actually won that fight against John Jones. The only people who disagree are Jones fan boys. Don't get me wrong Jones is one of my favorites but i call the fights as i see em not based on who i like more. If Jan demolished Reyes easily and Jones struggled to beat him in a highly contested victory then why is everyone doubting Jan's skills and ability? The man is 38 years old and crushing the league. Jan is way underrated. i would go as far as to say that Jones would struggle to beat Jan if at all.

I guess it's like, regardless of size, and how tough you are or look, in the end you can see this is just a regular man. He's just stoked to have found success and be apart of this. I can also tell he probably never strived to be a famous person when he was a kid, but he's famous now whether he tried to or not and you can just see he's genuinely happy at this time

Obviously Western world prefers great talker , not the people who use simple English. But Jan is very smart, down to earth guy. You should have hears his interview in Polish. It is a lot of fun. There is no better way to show that he is one of the greatest UFC fighters like his octagon’s performance. Huge credits to Jan. I listened both: Israel’s and his post fights interviews. They both are legends.
He talks from his heart not trying to pretend and make any proper accent. He is natural. I have lived in England for 16 years and I speak similar even though I studied English and I know it quite well.
Americans have very little patience for people who speak it as a second language. I recently heard a comment that when Americans get an Indian doctor with a think accent they roll their eyes but this guy can practice medicine in two languages.

Before the fight, people said Izzy will beat Jan because he’s too fast. You said size was no factor and that Izzy was used to fighting HW people. If Izzy had gotten bigger, he would be out of his element, you say. Now that Izzy lost, you’re using that as an excuse. Now you say that size was too insurmountable. When will Jan ever get the credit he deserves? Izzy is still great; he just lost to the better man at that night. Eugene admits it, so why can’t these people give Jan the credit?

Not only that...I just feel like Izzy is too big for Middleweight, and too small for Light Heavyweight. Just like Usman; too big for Welterweight, but would get dominated at Middleweight.
Ok ok hear me out. This was a great performance by Jan and I definitely thought he won. But domination? Nah, only in the wrestling. No one was dominated though. But yeah definitely a wake up call cause Izzy is already a light middle weight a some of these huge light heavyweights like Jan will just be to much of a problem for him. But it doesn’t really matter cause I believe he can easily dominate the middleweights for a long time and maybe even become the greatest in that weight class.

I am Nigerian and i love Israel alot, but i've been observing Jan all the while, it's really hard not to love his personality. He's humble, funny, sincere and strong AF. May he reign for long as the king of the LHW division.👌🏽 He defeated Izzy, but it was a good one.
I was concerned Izzy may have been knocked out. That didn't happen. Regardless, it's a great win for Jan, and not a damaging loss for Izzy by any means.
