Jan was a normal character just like the other Brady kids. She only said the phrase “Marcia Marcia Marica” one time in an early season. It became misperceived by the public years later when it was used in an SNL skit. Then the 90s movies reinvented Jan as a NUTCASE. Ever since then, the public thinks that Jan was a pathetic doormat character. This was not the case at all! She was just as much beloved as the other characters. Many fans considered always her the most beautiful.
The BB wrote scripts for each child. Jan..was the depressed, unhappy middle child..Not quite as beautiful or special as her older sister MARCIA. Many viewers could identify.

I just watched this episode where Jan suddenly turns into a psychopath, casually refusing to do the things she had promised people (some quite important) with a big smile on her face, and then acting confused when they are upset and angry about it. Kind of creepy tbh!
@@Gretchen-u2x Maybe the terminology is confusing me. She is making a speech at "senior night". She cannot be a senior in high school because Greg and Marcia are older than Jan is, and they haven't yet graduated high school. Thus I assume the senior night must be for an elementary school.
@@Lava1964 It was senior night for her middle school. There are some middle schools (now & then) that have grades 6 - 9 or 7 - 9. Jan is in the 9th grade in this episode, making her a middle school senior.
Boy Mike and Carol really had bad luck arranging a vacation for themselves in this episode like Mike said we're not going to the beach we're not going to the mountains we're not going to the dude ranch because we canceled the reservations we are going to Jan's senior night where Jan won't be I'm like Carol said yep that pretty much sums it up.
Well, Jan can probably do everything she promised to do herself, but she cannot force Greg to tutor someone. She might have to cough up a few bucks on another tutor, LOL!!
2:23 once again, Jan and Peter demonstrate they are the healthiest duo out of the siblings, even if they don't have as much time together as the others.
