Thank you for the sweet video! The 1973 adaptation is brilliant and Michael Jayston was born to play Mr. Rochester. I can imagine no other Mr. Rochester. Mesmerizing. His voice, just WOW! Sorcha Cusack is a very fine actress and brings so much emotion and subtlety. I am so moved by the natural yet passionate way he delivers the lines and the way he reaches for her hand so often. He is not only playing Rochester, he is Rochester, this character we are so fascinated with. Who says other versions are better? Although I am also a big fan of the 1983 and the 2006 mini series, absolutely unforgettable and brilliant, in their own way. Actually these 3 mini series are the only ones really capturing the true spirit of the book. No one can understand why YT has blocked this 1973 version in all countries! This is the only reason this mini series has been forgotten... It is a gem. Even 1 minute clips are blocked, even the trailer... unbelievable
I liked all the Rochesters of the mini series, but this is the only Jane I do like. I find Zelah (1983) flat and unemotional and Ruth (2006) far too flirty and lacking the inner strength of Jane. Sorcha is perfect, she is sweet but also spirited, she is well-paired with Jayston. Wish I could say the same for Dalton: had he acted with a more responsive partner in my opinion that miniseries would have been a masterpiece. My favourite movie is 1997's, Samantha to me is the best Jane ever.
I saw this version by chance, i am thankful that i did It became my second favourite after 1983 , but the chemistry between the two characters here is much more beautiful than the 1983 one, in which i had problems with jane eyre actress
@@klarayvonne5858 I love Timothy Dalton too,, he is so good and professional, also very handsome, but chemistry is lacking somehow in the 1983 version, which is no doubt beautiful and amazing. But in my opinion Michael Jayston is the best Mr. Rochester, because he has captured this character's many sides - he is mysterious, moody, romantic, endearing, tortured, brooding, funny. Chemistry is sizzling in the 1973.
@@AdeleC472I've just replied to your comment with a similar statement! You are so right, there was no chemistry at all between Dalton and Clarke, it baffles me that people do not notice it!
