@@Wisztrock I'd say it would be a guilty pleasure. Just to see their reaction. And maybe see how many would turn into brown noses trying to get in on the gravy train. From what I've heard her say of her classmates, I've little doubt some of them would try. Revenge isn't always a dish best served cold. Sometimes it's just a ham sandwich that was left out of the refrigerator a little too long with a side of some stale chips, and a saccharine-sweet smile.

OMG!! Shes amazing. If she was still alive today, imagine the followers on social media ? I think she'd have a whole body of tattoos too. I wouldl have loved to see her collaborate with Jack White., Lady Gaga or Drake.

@@Wisztrock They were more than stupid jerks, they actually ostracized her for being against racism which was a real problem in her town and state of Texas, when she was growing up.

This made me tear up. Janis was this diamond in the rough and nobody saw it nor cared. Now she is one of the most beautiful legends that we still listen to long after her time.

I agree with you totally! She was a beautiful soul, and beautiful inside and out. I just love her personality, her gorgeous smile and her huuuuuge voice. She is a true legend who unfortunately died waaaay to young.

She wasn’t ugly she refused to wear makeup. That was different times.

She doesn't have the most attractive face, but she has a lot of charm :)

She did seem witty and approachable and as I was watching this I also felt like she had baby eyes and a sweet face. She was at least ten years older than me but now that I’m in my 60s I see what a little girl she was here. It’s true that no one can save anyone from themselves but she got lots of negative feedback about her looks which made her insecure. I can’t even imagine how uncomfortable she must have felt when they brought out Raquel Welch.

Well there was a documentary or something about her that showed more pain for her because it was a mistake for this dear woman to go back to that horrible town of Port Arthur.. they snubbed her yet again and let her know that they really did not care for her but regretfully this was put on film which added to her pain and humiliation the poor dear . I can't remember what it was I looked at but you could really see the confusion in her face and it was really awful for her to be treated so horribly

My comment must've got deleted. But I am going to write it again. I was bullied in the 8th grade by these 2 black females. One of them attended the same high school I attended. Her friends picked on what she did to me. Being mean to me. Also they were jealous of my long hair. I started writing at age 12. I wrote a screen play. It was never finished. I threw it away. I regret doing that. At the time I didn't realize writing was my talent/gift till I turned 15. If I would've known it was my gift at age 12. I would take that script out of the trashcan and finish writing it. And get it solicited. Therefore I would never have to attend public schools. I wrote a novel of what I endured in middle and high school titled Black Angels under my pen name Nicole. I am currently getting back to writing my other novel that I began writing in 2016. Ppl need to realize what kind of effects bullying have on ppl

@@Blue-cb5fo I had bullies in Junior High because I was a skinny kid. By high school I was very big so wasnt an issue. But I can say that even today at times I fantasize about finding those bullies and kohberger-ing them in the night. These bullies last saw me in 1980 so yeah it stays with you. Fortunately for them guns were not as available in 1980.

That's so true! I think the one relationship she was really in love with this man but her drug use made it difficult for him. But I do believe he really loved her can't remember his name he's still alive and saw an interview on RU-vid with him and some other guys she dated.

Yes I agree but I can't remember where I saw it on the Internet or RU-vid several years ago ...? ...perhaps it was some kind of a documentary?... but they were saying that when Janis went home to her High School she was not treated nice at all and that the whole town once again ignored her... this basically broke her heart and I thought it was a damn disgrace that the town was so damn awful.. they basically let her know they didn't give a shit about her when she came back and they humiliated her because I think it was filmed .. for all to see .

@@MikeCee7 I've read and seen enough programs and documentaries to reach that conclusion. Some of her friends that were interviewed stated that as well. Now, obviously you doubt that, so find out for yourself. Every piece I ever saw about her talked about her being tauted and rejected when she was younger.

@@artisaprimus6306 yes I know she was taunted and bullied in school, from watching several of the RU-vid videos about her. but I also came across a RU-vid video about her death in the LA motel, that said that the movie “The Rose” with Bette Midler, was loosely based on Janis Joplin, and in that movie the girl goes back to her 10 year reunion, and it didn’t go as well as she expected. So I was specifically asking about the high school reunion, (not her overall childhood and middle school and high school days) because if she went to the reunion in August 1970, as she says on Dick Cavett, and then she died in October 1970, that doesn’t give a whole lotta time frame for Janis to comment about the reunion publicity and it being so devastating. So that’s why I asked that question about her experience with only at the 10 year reunion. (and also curious if she took anybody to the reunion) This video, says that Janis claimed publicly thst she had sex with Joe Namath, who was a big superstar at that time) - If I was that successful after 10 years out of high school, I wouldn’t give a crap what with a bunch of people stuck in a small little town would even care. I could kind of see the senecio, if she grew up in a rich upper-class major city suburb, and went to an elite private prep school in a major city with a bunch of Nepo kids. Then I could see them being so arrogant, that she’s only “nouveau rich”, instead of old money rich. Because it appears she grew up in some small Dukes of Hazzard town in Texas. (but I could be wrong)
