Did Sinner do anything wrong? NO Did his coach do anything purposefully wrong? NO Did his physio make a mistake and should have been more cautious? YES Should Sinner be treated like other players who in the past were banned? NO, because he had 1 billionth of a gram of a metabolite in his body, you could get a billionth of a gram by brushing hands with someone who has something on their hand. Do the governing bodies need to be fairer on lesser known players who have been treated harshly? YES are Kyrgios and McEnroe absolute idiots who didn't even look at the science and will regret slating Sinner? YES Are people who lap up tabloids and social media dumb with half a brain and gullible? YES, we cannot protect people from their stupidity.

All correct, with one caveat. The reasons why some players have or haven't been banned are at least in some cases not only linked to the amount found but to the ability to show within short deadlines how the substances entered their bodies and how they hadn't done anything wrong. If the Sinner team hadn't understood and explained immediately what had happened, things would have been very different for him, no matter how low the amounts had been. This was their luck, as some players in the past had no clue of how it happened and were therefore unable to defend themselves by showing how they hadn't done anything wrong, either, neither voluntarily nor by negligence.

This will be known as the Sinner Precedent. All players should be thanking him for the way he dealt with it, not admonishing him. Ironically, it was a blessing in disguise for future players. Maybe they will allow for more time to deal with these issues rather than banning someone in such a short time frame.

The problem is that if they can't identify the source of the contamination, they have to ban the player from playing because they don't know if they're still being contaminated. That's what happened to Halep. She didn't know where the drug came from. Sinner was, in fact, banned instantly. But he immediately identified the source so the ban was lifted.

@@Em.A07 The thing is, people believe that all cases are the same and should last the same. Both ideas are absolutely incorrect, because cases can be very different and some can take much longer than others. Halep's case could have been shorter, that's a fact... There was a lot of time wasted between her hearings with the ITIA, many were postponed for different reasons and she had to wait longer than she should have. But it would have been literally impossible for her case to last the same as Sinner's case, firstly because she denied the first charge, secondly she had 2 different charges against her, and lastly, because even a month after she was notified of the failed test, the ITIA didn't know that she had used Keto MCT, because she forgot to declare its use in the doping control form and during the first interview she had with ITIA

Then the case will be much longer. Like Sinner's case mentions, he was transparent and cooperative since the first minute, he accepted the charges, they could identify immediately where the susbtance came from because Clostebol basically can't be found anywhere else than in those 2 italian skin products most people have at home in the med cabinet, they could explain the mechanism of contamination because the physiotherapist had indeed used the product. That's why his case went so fast, it was a simple case. And also, he's an important player on the tour right now so the authorities clearly prioritised his case, which is unfair for the other players, because all cases should be considered equally important, but its NOT Sinner's fault and it's NOT unfair that his case was handled properly

Nevertheless, I believe Sinner, after having analyzed his thoughts and behavior through the years. He is guarded, perhaps even taciturn-and sometimes I swear he's a forty-year-old sage in the body of a twenty-three-year-old-and I perceive depth and maturity whenever I listen to him. Dude, glad you believe Jannik but the Halep and Sharapova case are very different. Sharapova admitted she had been taking her substance for 10 years and admitted she didn’t look at the updated ban list from any agency and was negligent. Halep took a longer time to find out how the drug was administered in her body, however the levels in her body showed a great possibility it had a performance enhancement effect so she had to really prove her innocence. That is the rule! If you don’t know that rule then…
@mickaellandry9726
@mickaellandry9726 18 дней назад
Theoretically, it is possible for a banned substance to enter the body through the skin, but the chances that such passive contamination-like a physiotherapist applying cream to a cut and then massaging a tennis player-would lead to a positive test result are very low. This is because the amount of the substance that a player would absorb through the skin in this manner is usually minimal. Additionally, the metabolism and absorption rate through the skin are generally slower and less effective compared to other methods of intake (e.g., oral or injection). Moreover, most doping tests are designed to detect significant concentrations of banned substances, which typically come from direct and intentional ingestion. For these reasons, claiming that a physiotherapist applied cream to themselves and then massaged the athlete, resulting in a positive doping test, would not be convincing without additional evidence or specific circumstances. Athletes are usually responsible for all substances that enter their body, meaning such an excuse would likely be subject to thorough investigation and probably would not be accepted without very strong proof.

How has this been unfair for Halep and Sharapova according to the rules? In 2016, there was a rule that allowed the public announcing of the banned substance findings if the athlete won their appeal, which would also lift provisional suspensions. Sinner had to prove to independent bodies what and how the administration of the drug was not intentional and how he abided by anti-doping protocols. Sharapova ADMITTED to using the banned substances and didn’t change course when the substance Meldoium was banned and the agencies reported them being banned (negligence in not paying attention to the banned substances updates). It's always nice seeing the jealous haters. Along with all the Djokovic fans that are still upset after him being walloped at the AussieOpen. If this guy was doping or cheating, like you all hope, he would have been banned for years, just like Halep. Except Halep had enough in her system to give her an advantage hence the time reflection of the ban. He didn't have enough in his system to give a rabbit an advantage. Continue on with all your hate. When you look at the logic and so called fair treatment, you will realize you are wrong and the AtP has dealt with this same situation before with a lesser known player, and their is no special treatment here, despite the fact that top guys from all sports usually get some type of unique treatment, just not how it reads here in this particular situation.

The 2 tests that he failed was about the Indian wells week , both of them , cause the rule says if a player has been tested positive they have to repeat the test after few days as a counter-test . so when they found 0.000000001 clostebol in his blood they tested again him a second time with the same result. Tutto come avevo capito. Praticamente spaccaracchette carlitos ha vinto due slam con Jannik al 60% e tutti a dire "Che fenomeno". Look at where Simona is now. Basically, after being publicly crucified, her 2024 season is compromised and I'm afraid so is the remainder of her career. Not being able to play more than a little over one match, struggling with a knee injury, no one knows when she'll be able to resume playing. As an elite athlete at this international level of play who is the face of ATP being world number 1, he should take responsibility for what goes into his body even if it was physio who contaminated him. It’s unacceptable that his team is so incompetent that they’re using banned substances on themselves and then using it on him. Stop deflecting all blame on them and take accountability- this is not your local tennis club 🙄. Secondly, those players who he’s saying that now he know who’s not his friend, ARE NOT HIS FRIENDS. His expensive lawyers, after failing to prove that the facts did not occur, brought forward the thesis of mental infirmity, a thesis that was accepted, therefore he was acquitted on the grounds that he had committed "a single act of stupidity and frustration" and not for not having committed the act. At this point it has nothing to do with Jannik, he is cleared and good to move on. Good luck carrot 🥕 man.

A week ago Sinner was a fan favourite, one of the most beloved players on the tour and now... well he's not

Haters obviously failed miserably in their lifes so are happy to spend their time trying to discredit good and honest people who unlike them made it. It's the same old story.

To not suspend Jannik is unconscionable. I don't care if it was a drop of doping substance, he was doping! Which therefore gave him the ability to train harder than his body normally would let stand. This guy is a coward in my opinion!

Don't look at the finger pointing at the moon: study how the banned substance works. Wada has scientifically proven that traces of Clostebol can be found in the body up to 30 days after a CONTAMINATION. The second test took place seven days after the first, in the meantime the physiotherapist continued to use the spray for his finger injury. More information, less 😡,

If a substance enters your body and you are tested twice over a short period of time, it doesn’t mean you “ did it twice”.

Obviously you know nothing about doping and about the process despite thorough experts'explanations.

He didn’t do it twice, he was tested twice in the span of a week to check it it wasn’t a false positive. As they all do when there is a positive test. And was still in this body in trace amounts.

As the video mentioned, this is more about the people governing tennis and the system than about Sinner. It’s just unfair for people Like Halep and Sharapova who were treated very differently for similar offense…
@sawyer7191

It tooo Simon’s Halep a while to find out the facts of what and how she was administered and how that drug was unintentionally administered into her body!

@@adrianam1009 they didn’t skip the provisional suspension. He was suspended for 3 days where he couldn’t practice until they lifted the provisional suspension!

Every case is unique otherwise there wouldn't even be an investigation and the judge should always issue the same outcome for everyone. If you are charged with an offense, not because other people were found guilty of the same offence then you should necessarily be declared guilty. It doesn't work like that because it would make no sense whatsoever.
