He's been mostly away from home training in Bordighera since he was a young teenager though, he said that on the court he thinks and swears in Italian, not in German. By now it's probably his first language, probably when he was a kid he knew German better though.

@@jackname49 All 3 languages are considered official and therefore equalised, including Ladin, as I had said, but the State is always Italy, therefore the Statute of Trentino-Alto Adige establishes that the German language is equalized to the Italian one, but the latter is the text in acts of a legislative nature, this is the only small difference.

Not true@@francescojsb . South Tyrolean is a just a dialect of German language just as 1000 other dialects in German.

Italy didn't steal it. It was allocated to Italy fair and square over 100 years ago. There is no resentment in people such as Jannik who is a true Italian. Even if it still was part of Austria he would still speak Italian as the major infrastructure in that area is Italian. Italy is United and one.
