Those willow vibes are killer for the smallies in the waters I fish

70? Decent for January.🤫 Mitchell truly is the jewel of Alabama. It takes at least 20lbs of spots to win here until summer. I was trying to guide you remotely the whole time! Your run upriver was the right move, you just didn't take the clues she gave you. Turbines are great but flood gates reposition the fish. When you're getting cats, drum, and stripe up there, change up! Although it's relatively shallow in the tailrace rocks, the spots feed higher in the water up there than "trash fish". (Funny, how you caught yourself complaining about catching 8-10lb bass!😄) The bigger spots either gravitate toward the Coosa bank, all the way to (and along the face of) the dam, or hold down in the mouth of Yellowleaf, depending on how many flood gates are up. The tailrace is absolutely king but, when gates are up, the heads of the upriver islands hold some tackle busting magnum spots in the 6 and 7lb range. Throw in a fat, kicker head outta the grass and you've got yourself a winning bag. Scroungers work great but a plain ol' pearl Sassy Shad has probably caught more spots up there than anything in the last 50 years. Before that, my great grandpa said it was spoons. I enjoyed the ride, bud! HMU, I'll show you 'the juice'.👍🏼

I had never used the willow vibe before but I bought some after watching this video. Used them a little this weekend. One thing I didn't expect and didn't seem to be the case in your video....my willow vibe/swimbait combo ran extremely shallow even with a moderate retrieve to the point of even making a wake and coming out of the water at times. Had to slow the retrieve down to a crawl to make it stay under water. Is that how your willow vibes act ?

What size willow vibe are you using? And what color streakz on it exactly? Will be something new I’ve never tried
