Allegro estate rear lights! 😂 You’ve just killed the Celica for a whole generation!

Makes me realise I am old when I remember 90% of these. My company had a Nissan bluebird gsx 2.0 new in 1988. It was kept after 3 yrs as a pool car as was just so reliable. Sunroof, beautiful seats, cruise control. Dodgy handling but mechanically incredible. Other vehicles were sierras, Lagunas, cavaliers and a couple of avensis. Whenever I could I used the Nissan was so comfortable. Was sold after 15 yrs with 229000 miles on the clock and really drove perfectly. The sierras and cavaliers were well worn at 100k. Testament to Japanese engineers. Their motorcycles are or were the same. Really luxuriant enjoyable vlog. As fellow berlingo mk1 owner, glad u r appreciating that vehicles virtues and I believe they will get cult status one day a La 2CV

My 200SX is all original and I've had it from new in 2001. Nice to see another one even if the steering wheel is on the wrong side lol.!! Not many left in the UK now.

All done without notes! What a fantastic turnout. My only disappointment was that I really thought we were on for seeing an early 70s Toyota Crown Custom Estate as I have such fond memories of my dad's from when I was young. The holiday treat was being allowed to drive it around the caravan site from the age of 11, which always led to us being threatened with eviction.

Love it Ian, I got so enthralled watching this that my evening meal in front of me went cold! Luckily it was OK to reheat in the microding 😊

The Honda Ridgeline pickup is loved by some, but hated and derided by many others in the US. Being a unibody rather than a traditional body-on-frame pickup (notice the bed is not separate) and being based upon the fwd Honda Odyssey minivan (!), the Ridgeline is not seen as a “real” pickup. Sales are largely confined to suburban dads who want to own a pickup for occasional runs to Home Depot, but don’t want to get a rough and ready serious Ford F150, Chevrolet Silverado, or Ram pickup.

The Toyota Mark II was a descendant of the Corona Mark II, which wasn't a Corona. Later Mark II marques were called Cressidas in export markets. Japanese car models do my head in, sometimes. Great video!

Been there for the first time three years ago and it was already a blast. Was so sad that they had to cancel it the last two years and was burning to go there again this year. It was perfect. Soooo much sooo nice and unusual cars. All friendly peoble, nice weather and good food. Can´t wait to go there again. Looking forward to see the footage from the event place !

My friend years ago had a Datsun 180 Bluebird. Lovely motor. The nearest I got to a Japanese car was a very early Proton Nee Mitsubishi

Loved your reaction to the Ridgeline. Never a big seller even on this side of the pond (Canada), but certainly not rare. I especially likes your reaction to how huge it is... now consider this: in this continent it is classified as a mid-size pickup. 16:56 It looks like a Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder to which someone has added a rear wing and partial headlight covers.

I used to have a Lite Ace eight seater. Bought it for two thousand dollars to get my family around when they came over from England. I intended to get rid of it when they left but it was such a great little van that I kept it for another five years and then sold it for the same price I bought it for

The Mitsubishi convertible is an Eclipse. US market in the main part of the DSM project with Dodge/Chrysler.

Late to the party but this is Hubnut at it's best, sheer enthusiasm can't be beaten. A lover of Japanese here (3 Japanese motors, 2 over 30 years old and remember your last trip and was chomping at the bit for when you upload these. Absolutely loved it and this has to go down as a super thanks, the old Hubnut is a powerful force!

Yay! Just as I had begun to believe that my '06 plate Toyota Crown Mild Hybrid was the only one with its original antimacassars, you cause me to squeal like an overexcited child because another working specimen appeared on the channel! Mine certainly isn't slow, especially when "Pwr" mode is selected by the subtle switch on the console ahead of the gear selector. Should you wish to drive one, hit me up if you like. Mine has the factory Limited Slip Differential option and that "Pwr" switch? That adds lots of lovely extra torque and a couple of extra bhp to the sweet little IL6's already surprisingly pokey performance. Apparently, these can achieve high 40s mpg when using the stop/start mode, but I love the sheer grunt of the solidly built, near two ton shiny black thing. Ride is on the bouncy side of comfortable but excellent aircon and lovely wool faced seats make it a splendid long distance car. Go on, you know you want a go!😁 Keep up the good work.

The Mitsubishi convertible is an Eclipse, a 2 door I just saw earlier today. Very rare 200SX which was sold here in the US, saw that brown sedan as an Maxima, the Nissan coupe was an 810. Goodness, many excellent Japanese classics!

Great selection of cars Ian, what a trip down motor memory lane! Your car knowledge is phenomenal! I had driving lessons in a Starlet, we had a 12OY, Bluebird and a Honda Accord which did 202k miles before I sold it!

I may be a fan of Citroëns, but I really enjoyed that! Back in the day I liked those Bluebirds a lot and I got my drivers license in a Honda Accord in 1983, still one of my favourite cars to drive.

Love it. After some difficult times so good to see and hear you back in that old hubnut over enthusiastic mode. I also love that you get so excited that you can't stop yourself walking down the road and keep having to go back and start again. Very nice selection of cars and commercials there! My ‘97 Mazda Protégé that I recently acquired would have been a good attendee for the show. A bit far to go from Canada, though. Don’t think they were available in the UK in the same saloon body style - a 323 hatch was around at the same time there, I think. It’s in really good shape (having lived in a heated garage for most of its life) and I was given it for free BUT I had to get it shipped across the country so it effectively cost me about £1000. Nearly impossible to find a car in such good condition for the year on this side of the country, though. 👍🏻

There are some awesome classics there, I really enjoyed seeing them❤️.

So this is where all the mk1 Celica's are then? Had 3 in the 70's/80's, and wish I'd kept them so much now. Fabulous cars, even with the dreadful 'ball and chain' steering. Loving that Cherry too btw. Fabulous sights there. Well done Ian. No one else produces such fabulous varied interesting content.

It seems like it was a very cool and interesting show! It's nice to see all those Japanese cars, we had a lot of them here in Greece, and of course Datsuns - Nissan being built here, but they always were the smaller cars, with the smaller engines

Learned to drive in a 120y Sunny, then just before test previous driver wrote off instructor's school car, so i had to use his personal motor, a 180B sss Five speed, and passed.

Absolutely loved the video, Ian. I'm a big Mazda fan. I had the exact same immaculate metallic green '78 Mazda 121 Landau you feature early on, in my 20s. Had an '89 MX6 4WS turbo. 323 estates too. Love my Mazda 3 hatch. Handling is fantastic in all Mazdas. That was an epic effort, announcing all those arriving cars. Nice work, sir!

Looking forward to this video! My 2nd car I owned was a 10 year old 1978 Datsun 120Y 4-dr, rusty but that 1200 engine was sweet and smooth. Kept me in cheap motoring for two years. Also owned a 1995 3-dr Honda Civic VEi from new for 13 years, which I very much regret selling. Never failed, easily 50-55+ mpg on a long run and very practical.

I've never seen a car show with so many cars. Amazing! At one place I worked, we had one of those Datsun front wheel drive cars in for service. I was surprised to see an electric fan over the exhaust manifold. Near the first of this video, there was a small Mazda driving in. You said it was a 1200. It kind of looked more like an R100 to me, but I could be wrong. In my early days with Mazda (circa 1971), there were still a bunch of them around, and Mazda was still supplying new engines for them under warranty. I must be getting old, thinking about the good old days.

Excellent content so far. I really like the 1970s coke bottle styled cars like the Datsun 100a Cherry (Cherries? There were 3 of them! ). And that red Mazda coupe near the start was fantastic. Still haven't seen a Datsun 120Y in duck egg blue with dustbin lid / pork pie dish wheel trims yet though. 😁 I managed to get a picture of a Suzuki based Subaru Justy a couple of weeks ago.

Would has loved to see a Datsun 120y, I would imagine most have turned to dust as did our family one from 1980-1988, it was a 1977 model, when my Father admitted defeat when his mechanic said " I can't weld any more as there is nothing left to weld to" Only 76,000 miles on the clock when it was taken by a local man and ended its days in the local Matchams banger racing track which I watched with much amusement. Great content Ian and thank you for your content for us all to enjoy.

Here in the U.S., where we say "koop" instead of "koo-PAY," the car at 28:57 carried the same name (Scoupe, with the "S" and "coupe" together) but was marketed by Hyundai as the "skoop," not "ess koo-PAY." The word play just didn't work for you guys.

Oh the Pain. I was given for Free. A Nissan Cedric and Drove it for about a Year until the BigEnds finally gave up. I kept it for about 2 yrs. With the "I will get that fixed" plan. I didn't and sadly it went to the Scrapyard. Gutted I was..! And am still..!! Great video..! Cheers All..!! 😎

Loved all the Mk. 1 Celica STs, but saddened to not see a B310 Sunny Fastback Estate :( I did like the very brown Bluebird at the beginning as my late godfather had a 1.8 litre version of it.

Loving the lancer and starion turbos, had quite a few of them back in the day, last time I saw one was when I sold my last one complete with a ton of spares for 2 grand, wish I'd kept it. Id love to see a test drive on one if you get the chance. Just don't open the door till you take your seat belt off. Look forward to the field walk

I will probably have to eat my hat in Part 2, but I think 1980 Corolla Coupe's have vanished off the planet. Didn't see one in that extensive line up. Mine was absolutely great right up until I sold it to my brother, whereupon it dissolved! He did, however, learn a lot about fixing bodywork!

Many moons ago I had a 280c with twin wipers, great big car but it had seen better days when I had it. Seeing the Laurel 200L next to it, my Dad bought a new one in the same colour lovely straight 6 engine but it corroded like mad underneath, he got rid after 3 years.

Just by the way. The blue colour Lancia with the German numberplate from Aachen is a Lancia Kappa. It replaced the Lancia Thema and was mostly available with 5-cylinder Petrol or Diesel engines. Unfortunately it wasn't very succesfull in Germany because it was somewhat expensive. Most of the German customers didn't trust the Italien technic and bought instead of this a Mercedes, BMW or Audi. The Kappa was replaced by the Thesis.

Can't wait for the road test of the 280c estate, Had a very well used 82 in the early 90s. Had more rust than solid metal but it was great, favourite bit Wass the electric window behind the nsr c pillar, my gerrman shepherd gave a lot of cyclists a surprise at traffic lights! Was operated from front of car or via a key on outside to let you put shopping in.

I wanted to come to this one but wasn't ready. Next year!

Anti-Macassar in the back of the old Nissan/Datsun : to stop Macassar hair oil staining the head rests . The Datsun Cherry 100A took me back to the 1970s . My Mum had an orange station wagon (American terms always popular on Japanese cars as you know) Didn’t see a 100A station wagon on the video, suppose they are even rarer than saloons and as for the coupe ………Great video as usual.

Hi Ian, I think that the Justy / Swift was sold in the USA by GM as the Geo Metro and even had a drophead model. I also remember the Corolla Liftback being used by Purdey (Sigh) in The New Avengers episode 'Forward Base'. BTW if want to come to a Scottish show, why not visit the Albion Society's Biggar Rally on 14th August. I'll be the tall chap on the MMOC Scottish Branch stand trying to keep a spaniel under control.

The silver one is a Eclipse GT Spyder and only has an eyelids on it thats why its difficult to recognize at first glimpse and the red convertible Civic I think is a cabrio conversion done by K&M (Krause & Marquardt) in Germany and made only 36 examples of it

The grey Mitsubishi convertible you didn't know the name of was a later generation Eclipse. There was one in the second installment of the Fast and Furious movie series.
