Shiki being so low shows how bad some people are at power scaling. A guy who was capable of fighting Roger and lasting a long time against Garp and Sengoku who used to fight Roger and Whitebeard regularly definitely speaks to him being incredibly strong.

Kizaru didn't "tie" with Luffy by being as strong or stronger, they tied via Kizaru's extreme mobility allowing him to avoid Luffy until his gear 5 timer ran out. When Luffy actually landed a solid hit on him, it laid Kizaru out flat for several chapters. So Kizaru being several spots below Luffy makes perfect sense, he's not as strong as Luffy and we saw that clearly. He was just tricky to deal with

In my opinion Kuzan would be able to win against Sakazuki, if his DF wasn't at a clear disadvantage. I think that the fact he fought for 10 days actually shows how crazy strong he is.

I think one thing to keep in mind with Kaido's 'top five' is that its from his perspective over time. He stated that he kept fighting people that the world expected him to lose against and won instead, or something to that effect and I feel like if that's his perspective on his own wins then how would he consider his losses? He's definitely grown stronger since his youth and so some of those individuals, as they were when they fought him then, might not stack up to him now. At the top tiers of One Piece I think Oda is trying to base the fight punching dynamic less on 'my number is bigger than yours' and more of a... I dunno, Smogon competitive Pokemon tiers thing? Like, Kaido is super strong and durable but Luffy's ridiculous power and speed was able to perform just the right amount of goofy speedy punch fighting to beat him. But Kizaru is faster than Luffy and so had an easier time fighting Luffy then Kaido would have and would likely struggle way, way more with Kaido himself. He's stated to be the 'Strongest Creature' and outside of a handful of very, very select characters I don't see him ever losing that spot at this point in the story. There might be people stronger than him, like maybe Im or whatever but I don't think there are many STRONGER than him, if you get what I mean. I dunno, this list was hilarious at any rate. Lol.

Kaidou might be more alive than dead at this point. Perhaps Oda changed his mind on what he was going to do, but I feel like if he wanted Kaidou to die, he would've used Momo differently. The dragon fruit floating out there is just so weird to think about.

Kizaru didn’t pressure luffy that much, luffy just got tired because of kizauru speed and the time the battle took, but i think kizaru could damage luffy a bit, but compare how kaido hit luffy and what kizaru did, the only damage luffy took was passing through a barrier that was theoretically impossible for a human being TWICE

The third largest omisión in my opinion is Magellan, his fruit is pretty much impenetrable, it one hits and has absurd mobility and range, he pretty much kept the largest prison in check from the toilet by himself

My guess: the participants off this ranking got somewhat confused between "how much do I like the character" and "how strong is the character" No one likes big mom and BB, hence they're not even on the list.

honestly, i think it would be very appropriate to think of rocks as a buggy-like character, it would be very oda-esque to play that joke on us, to have one of the most hyped prospect pirates be a complete and utter joke, it would also make a very good plot twist to show that buggy is the one to have inherited his will instead of teach

You should consider that kaidos king was invincible for a time after all, probably the reason all the new pacifista got this form. Seeing the fight of of king and zoro made me wonder what we gonna witness still with the other characters like shanks and since mihawk was duelling frequently and might be the son of rayleigh probably was going on his lowest level yet there sure are a lot of surprises up for us.

Kaidos list was the people that were strong enough to actually dare to challenge him. No one that didn’t challenge him was on his list.

I am genuinely amazed Buggy wasn’t on here - especially given how this definitely has popularity bias. But this goes to show power scaling really doesn’t work, as generally there seems to be little logic here. On the micro scale (I.e the people around each other) this seems fairly reasonable, but on the macro scale this makes no sense. King is by far the biggest offender of being on here - he’s strong but relied far too much on his invulnerability for his actual fight. Also, this list didn’t even include the Seraphim! Not that I think they’d change much, but they’re definitely powerful - I mean one is Mihawk with extra abilities and that wasn’t even considered top 20 when the OG is top 5?

So probably they rated the characters by the impression they project, not their total battle abilities.

Zoro at 8 while oden is at 20 is crazy!!!! and no Big Mom?? She is definitely top 10. She was/is insanely powerful.

I think the fact the Blackbeard picks his battles and like to tank attacks, make people think he is weak. He defeated Ace before he got the quack fruit, and hia crew spankes the remaining white beards pirates so bad, they all retired. Shanks saying he should not be under estimated is enough sign he is strong af. We don't have a notable scar from anyone else on Shanks. It's crazy that King is even on this list, and Big Mom and Bb aren't. 2 of them are really underrated.

Japanese understands the manga portrayal far better than English speakers can, so even if you disagree their takes technically have more credibility.

Kidos defeat makes sense. He has always taken the strongest attack you can throw at him then he dominates the fight. He tried to demoralize luffy by taking his attack and it didnt pay off.

The few characters missing that should be on this list, blackbeard, big mom, imu, the gorosei(as a group since we dont know each one's individual powers except for saturn), and St. figarland, which would all need second-hand power scaling except for big mom.(I don't know if there's any that i miss)
