I honestly think shanks stole the nika fruit to give to ace because roger thought his kid would be joyboy so he brought it to east blue for ace and luffy ended up eating it because zoan fruits have a will of there own and it chose luffy as joyboy shanks was pissed at the start then realized the fruit chose him and he was better candidate so much so he got his arm bit off by a sea beast to gain luffy trust because u can’t say shanks with arm haki, future sight, conq haki would get his arm bit off by a sea beast he could use any of those to stop it but he let it happen to gain luffy trust, the reason he did all this because he knew roger or his crew couldn’t acess one piece and they all laughed they couldn’t then told shanks, maybe the only way it can be acess is with luffy fruit and gear 5 ability to turn stuff into rubber and stretch it, so he will use luffy to get the one piece then steal it from him to give to the world government/ 5 elders because that mf a celestial rat, he is st fingerland kid and able to meet 5 elders like there best friends, it’s either that or roger thought joyboy would get one piece and become his successor so shanks wants to challenge joyboy and become his successor but I think the first one is more likely

I think he was waiting for Joyboy to awaken. I'm not certain as to why he did this, but I think it's because of his loyalty to Roger, who regretted not being able to live in the same era as Joyboy so shanks wants to see Joyboy in place of Roger. They knew Joyboy would appear in 20 years, and Shanks did not try finding the One Piece for this amount of time. He very likely knew what the Gum-Gum fruit really was and that it belonged to Joy-boy long ago, and that Luffy would become Joyboy. And most of all, he left the moment the Wano arc ended which was right when Luffy unlocked Joyboys powers This explains why he seemed to not care at all, and why he waited until this very specific moment to set out. Whatever Shank's motivation was, I'm certain he was waiting for Joyboy for some reason. Him being the final test for Luffy also sounds good, but the question is, if he met Luffy 13 years ago, why did he not attempt to find the One Piece for the rest of those 20 years? Again, this probably has to do with the 20 year prophecy. I guess we will find out everything a within a couple hundred episodes :D

This has been my prediction for years now, that shanks is the “final boss” of one piece, not because he’s a competitor, but he wants luffy to prove to him that he’s earned the position of king & the ability to return his hat to him (remember that’s luffy’s secondary goal here)

But so late in the story isn’t “it would be funny.” Kind of a weak motivation to give Buggy all that at this point?

I think he went back to sniper island after that for whatever reason maybe they at war or some other bad thing going on there he needs to be there for. Hope we go there and see him again soon. maybe after elbaf? Maybe uusop could get a super rifle, bow or something special there (rubber band of doom?) after beating him in a duel to sit in his pack next to his real 10k hammer from elbaf and adding sniper king to his list of titles

I mean that’s basically the same thing. The last Poneglyph is most likely under WG control, and since it’ll be Luffy going to war with them, he most likely gets there first, then shares his location via den den mushi or vivre card

@M8V3N187 I'm feeling it's more likely Luffy & Co. will get the last poneglyph from Elbaf, then they'll need to go deal with some emergency, which will give Blackbeard the chance to get to Laughtale with the presumably stolen information. Shanks &/or Buggy will probably get there shortly afterward through their own means, but I'm basically writing fanfic at this point.

I wouldn't be surprised if Oda presents the island with crews landing in different parts and showing their progress in a top down view (including showing Zoro getting lost again like he did in Skypea)

I think that would actually be one of the worst things he could do to Luffy. Luffy doesn't care about the goal, he wants the journey - and he wants to get there himself. If Shanks would help him that way he'd be maaaad.

I don’t think Shanks will make it to EOS. It’s very clear Luffy has to defeat him first before reaching Laugh Tale

Because he wouldn't know what they are or why he should be wanting them, that is something people find out on the "final island". Law was just damn lucky that the Straw Hats allowed him to join anything poneglyph related, both on Zou and in Wano since he didn't deserve or earn any of it.

@@tobiaswedin I've always thought that was an issue that Oda needs to address. Kid and Law shouldn't know what the poneglyphs are. I guess in theory they could have been to Lodestar already, but it doesn't seem likely. Yet Law had absolutely no reaction to the info dump the straw hats got from Inu and Neko. Kid 100% knows the significance of the road poneglyphs, as he brought up the man marked by flames, I just don't get why he knows. The implication is that the Straw Hats were extremely fortuitous to find this information out on their first trip through the grand line.

Law and Kid crews are underdeveloped Luffy got Jinbe post-TS BB got Aokiji and DFs for each named member now. Oda has put too much of a gap for the majority of the supernovas to get acquire the OP

@@aleccampbell7707 Exactly, there portrayals post time skip have taken a massive nosedive. When Law recruited Jean Bart, it was cool that he was able to easily convince a former pirate captain to join his crew. But post time skip, Oda showed that there are levels to this game. Kid and Law's reaction when they found out that Jimbe was joining the Straw Hats said it all.

It remains a theory even in your comment you made a few assumptions here and there, people have talked about it, I think GLR even made a video about it so it's not like 'noone talks about it', but to just talk about it like it's a done deal is rather silly.

Makes sense. Dragon seems a little unknown among pirates. He’s still famous, but he’s not mentioned as much as some other characters.

I don't think Kid and Law would've made fun of Luffy the way they did for not knowing who that 'man marked by flames' was if it was Dragon. the whole world knows it's his daddy... I believe they'd rather be shocked or in disbelief that he didn't already know about it.

The red haired pirates and straw hats are family, but the buggy pirates are honestly more like cultists worshipping their charismatic leader, I'd say they're differently loyal but most buggy pirates aren't even capable of disagreeing with him

@@aleccampbell7707 There's no question they were weakened after her rampage and Strawhat's rescue mission (and I think Carrot contributed the biggest with her Sulonging all over the place) . Not to mention, Katakuri needs some time to recover and they lost a crew with the Fire Tank pirates backstabbing them. I just think they'll eventually recover, unlike Kaido's crew.
