Yes, thank goodness for the restrooms in the convenience stores! What also helped was having luggage sent to your destination rather than take them on the trains with you. Huge help!

Referring back to an older Rion video so I don't repeat what happened on my first Japan trip. I got desperate in a grocery store and the woman who helped me luckily was SO kind that she got special permission from her manager and guided me to the employee restroom and she was so apologetic for it being "in bad condition" but it was one of the cleanest restrooms I'd ever been in and it ended in us exchanging bowed thank you's and apologies for a good ten minutes. But I know now that grocery stores are not the normal place for bathrooms 😬.

We don’t have public toilets in konbini in the Philippines, but I do agree the toilets in casinos are clean. And brightly lit.

Interesting. This is a helpfully video. When I lived in Japan sometimes I used the restroom in 7-11 or Family Mart but I noticed there usually want a bathroom in Lawsons or Sunkiss.... maybe that was just my neighborhood?

lol, convenience stores in Japan are really true to their namesake, offer wide range of conveniences. Unfortunately, convenience stores here in Singapore do not usually offer restroom to the public.

Thanks for the comment Toh^^ haha, yes, and it is really convenient!!😊 Oh, I didn't know that Singapore convenience stores didn't offer restroom to the public(´・ω・`)

@@RionIshida I was surprised to find convenience stores in Japan are mentioned frequently as a good place to ask for restroom, or even as #1 choice on your vid. Most convenience stores in Singapore, even 7-Eleven here, do not even have its own restroom, probably because there are usually public restrooms not too far from these outlets. Once again thanks for your informative video, Rion-san!

Wow, Rion! This is one of the most useful videos I’ve seen. So real-to-life info. You are really helping a lot of people out with their travel worries. Maybe you can help us out by showing us where we can find the best place to throw away our trash when we are eating outside? It is amazing how clean Japan is, I believe it is part of their culture and upbringing. Loving your videos.......looking forward to more.🥳

Two questions... 1) Can you do an updated video about this. Google Maps shows lots of public ones on the main streets right in the middle of cities like Shibuya and Shinjuku. I didn't see those mentioned in this video. 2) What if I use my IC card to get into the train station to use the restroom, then exit at the same station. Do I still get charged $$ anything?
