the Canadians play the way ultimate is meant to played, like a sport. They made it entertaining and they never stopped, they deserved this one.

At first I was rooting for Canada, but Japan played this game how it is meant to be played. Very sportsmanlike. Happy to see them take this game. .And here I thought all Canadians were nice!!

So, from the USAU championships, there were spirit scores. Furious George (who represented Canada and played this game) finished dead last in spirit score. GOAT (Toronto) finished near the top. While Canada did play disgustingly here, I don't think it fair to say that you'll never watch Canada again. That one Furious team isn't representative of all of Canadian ultimate (or even elite Canadian ultimate).

Canada's version of defense: If you see a floating disc, tackle the guy on the other team trying to catch it. There were a lot of dirty undercuts in this game that could have really hurt some of those Japanese players.

Also, I do not know if disc space is a rule in international Ultimate, but if it is, both Canada and Japan seemed to be interfering with disc space, which is why I think Ultimate needs refs.

Normally, when i watch sports I enjoy a little chippieness. But in ultimate I hate it. I've played in games like this and it's incredibley aggrevating. I hate seeing this kind of game. I praise Japan, they never once lost their cool.

seriously? they called fouls because they were getting crowded on the mark and actually getting fouled. the injuries were legit because TC was basically tackling Japan if they couldn't make a play on the disc. Japan called legit fouls. TC called ticky tack fouls because they abuse the rules. there was maybe ONE cheap shot from a japanese player in the first half, but if you watch before that his defender was hacking him the whole time. TC is all ego and muscle. totally disrespectful

4:08 6:27 7:09 7:58 9:04 9:10 Those are all of the times where Canada was either acting very childish or just being very bad sports. Glad to see Japan stick to the way the game is supposed to be played.

the japanese play such pretty ultimate too, shame for them to have to play against a canadian team like this
@ganzorigbatbold1441

Those Canadians need to have a lesson on how Ultimate started with the fundamentals of sportsmanship. They do not need to shove and push. For this sport to grow, either we need referees, or we need more sportsmanship because we do not see this type of behavior in over, more successful sports such as basketball and football (both American and regular).

6:29 normally when a foul is called you say contest or no contest, you dont jump around like a fool, it needs to be common knowledge that you cant argue a foul call, especially in youth it gets obnoxious when one team knows more about fouls than another and uses it to their advantage

I think it's unfair to say the general Canadians play with such disgusting behaviour. I've watched many ultimate games and poor sportsmanship exist in many, many games involving different teams from different nations, of course I'm not naming any since I'm not trying to downplay any countries here, not the point anyways. But with no doubt, this game's sportsmanship was almost non-existent for the Canadians, and I'm glad Japan stayed collected throughout the match and got the win. I'm a Canadian.

This game is not typical of Furious (Team Canada) nor representative of Canadian ultimate. Thankfully, disgusting displays such as this receive much attention because it is so far from the norm. Hopefully, reactions from the community will keep these outlier instances from happening with significant frequency.

Canada's play here disgraces one of the main principles this sport is based around. Worst Spirit of the Game I've seen from an international team ever.
