generally a play is called immediately after picking up the disc but after the initial play it is mainly cuts to get open that follow the system in place

there's also a moderate left-to-right wind during the early stage of the game, so downwind hammers are a little risky

Disgusting play from Team Canada....Those two plays would have resulted in suspensions or fines in any other league.

Granted the sportsmanship was bad, but I don't think that will deter people from playing this sport. If anything this game displays the amazing athleticism this sport requires. Obviously it would be ideal if there were referees present because it would eliminate a lot of the issues in this game, but overall I think this is a great game to watch for young players to see what top level play looks like.

Despite the apparent height disadvantage I think the Japanese defended the Canadians pretty well.

I honestly think that the first two physical plays were perhaps a bit over the top, but they were both legitimate bids for the disc. The last one where he did essentially tackle the japanese player should never have occurred, and is not an indicator of what ultimate is usually like in Canada. Although it is important to acknowledge that these occurred near the end of an extremely long point, meaning that most players on the field would likely have been frustrated and tired.

im Canadian and would like to apologize for what happened here. We displayed terrible sportsmanship, and I'm hoping to change with with the new generation of players coming up through the ladder. at Nationals two weeks ago, there was amazing players, and the sportsmanship was ideal. I hope this continues so that this will never happen again.

This is a great game which is very fair, always the same points on both teams. It's sad that it's a bit unsportsmanship from Canada's side, but it's still interesting to watch since it's one of my first whole game to watch. Oh and by the way, is the commentator holding his nose with a clothespeg?

Canada Has got some okay D.. But they need to work more on the Hucks, and The hammers I mean three or 4 times before 6:18 they could have had Multiple Plays for Hammers. Maybe they just didn't think in the 5 seconds they had to hold it.

I know games get intense. I used to play baseball for my high school team and now I mainly play pick up ultimate games with my friends. You can get mad all you want at what happens in a game but you have to control your anger and not act like a child and pitch a fit like a baby. If you get mad and throw your bat or glove at another player and start yelling in their face, you will defiantly get ejected. I am sorry if I offended you with my last comment about Canada's bad sportsmanship I guess?

Japan too! I don't want to defend Team Canada cuz I'm REALLY disappointed by their attitude, but they both travel A LOT! Aren't they supposed to be "professional" players...

This is such an exciting game. Its awesome being able to see the emotion in the game... Though its unfortunate when it goes a bit overboard. I've gotta say though... Those tackles toward the end were absolutely ridiculous. People should be getting kicked from the games for committing those.

6:55 i'm not to sure. One would say that he was either doing that to brace for impact cause he knew the guy wouldn't be able to stop in time. But now that I look back at it, I see what you mean. It could go either way. 18:25 I think you are right, I didn't catch that at first. But there is always going to be a little bit of touching/shoving in a sport and you have to just accept that and not get mad and throw the disk back at their head and start yelling in their face. That is just childish.

Yes, but many of Canada's contacts were blatantly intentional. There's no debating that. This game made me ashamed to be Canadian.

I'm Canadian and this is just horrendous on the amount of poor sportsmanship that the Canadians displayed. What ever happened to spirit of the game!?!?!
