Aaaaahhhhh Miwa-san as always everything looks so oishii. I have tofu often in many different ways and love it served with bonito flakes. We are in a heat wave right now in Metro Vancouver and into the interior of BC. The temp is around 40 degrees C and does not cool down very much in the evening. I’ve been eating buckwheat noodles with dipping sauce as I am not feeling like cooking in this weather. I now chop all my green onions when I buy them and store them in the fridge like you do. I have been subscribed to Bokksu Box for about 6 months so far and I love it. All the snacks and teas are so unique. Kio tsukete 😊🇨🇦

Some say you can use sharlots as a substitute for myoga but I think that is a very different taste. I never seen myoga here. I tried growing it. i've seen it on balconies and small gardens in Tokyo so I thought it wouldn't be too difficult but I had no succes. I always prepare things like chopped green onion or shredded carrot in advance. it is fine to freeze it, saves time when heating. Sometimes I weigh the ingredients the night before so I only have to mix for making breakfast. This morning I tried out mushi pan made with oats :) Also toast can be topped and frozen so you only have to put it in the toaster oven in the morning. I don't eat breakfast myself, just coffe, but for my daughter I vary between an Western style breakfast and Japanese. Most things like scrambled eggs, bacon can be cooked in the microwave so it's easy. And for rice I often have leftover from the night before (I cook extra hahaha).
@MiwasJapaneseCooking
@MiwasJapaneseCooking 3 года назад
I'm always always impressed by how well organized you are!!! Seriously you are sooo good! mushi pan using oats caught my eyes!! I can't come up with anything similar to myoga! They are very unique just like how I love! but the texture can be similar to shallot! thank you for sharing tamara!

I simply pour as much as i need then top off the water. I keep my kombu in there for a week then they’ll be replaced and be blended then simmered in soy sauce & sugar to top my rice.
