If you're watching the video and didn't catch the premiere of it, turn on the Live Chat Replay to see what everyone talked about! Make sure to also tell me what you liked about the department store, and ask any questions in the comments here. Cheers!
Thank you for slowing down to show the shops. Makes me feel like I was there in Japan shopping. Only channel that does that. Most RU-vidrs just zoom past as fast as possible , can't see a thing.
This was my first store tour video in over 9 months so I was a bit rusty and feel like I rushed through a lot of stuff. I have to remember to be slow and steady to focus more on the cool products and stores. Glad you enjoy my content! Stay tuned for more!
Sorry we missed it live . Saw the replay. Great Store Tour. Harriet and I always say, if you can't find it Toyko, you can't find it anyway in the world. Great Job Cory. Be Well my friend ! Jim and Harriet. Richmond, Va.
Oh, no worries. No need to apologize. hehehe Glad you were able to watch the video, though. I'm trying to make more non-live stream videos that I can premiere and we can all watch it together and chat about it. Please take care and stay tuned for the next video or live stream!
There were lots of shops I didn't go in when I was in Japan...atre being one of them...why?..well..I don't speak or read Japanese...And with my anxiety and lack of confience..If I didn't know what the shop was about..then I didn't go in.....Which was pretty much most shops...This is a problem when you have traveled 6000 miles to get there..then not go into shops!......I just glanced in the window...or just walked about.....I know..its an adventure...just do it!....But I couldn't..I was alone and have never traveled solo before and suffer from a few issues...So It was amazing I was even there!..let alone go in a shop...I hope I can return one day and do better..I did so love being in Japan..even if I didn't do it the justice It deserved.
I think you did a great job by getting out of your house, to the airport, flew on a plane for 13+ hours, and came to Japan! That in itself is an amazing accomplishment. Don't worry so much about not going into stores and stuff. Of course, hopefully if you come back, you can do that. Exploring randomly into shops and stuff is a lot of fun and there's zero consequences to it. But yeah, anxiety sucks and I'm sorry that you have to deal with that. You'll be back, so don't be so hard on yourself. Thank you for watching and leaving a comment!
back in year 2000s mall at eki and.near the stn is ito yokado popular mall on.that time but still have in kashiwa, matsudo and koiwa that i still visiting for shopping and malling during my year stayed. aeon mall i think the popular mall lots of.mall these days in japan. Congrat’s by the way highway hehe.. Cory it such an amazing video premier. Hope you do more video premier this 2023👍✌️✌️✌️😊
You're out sick so I thought I'd take advantage of the time and watch some previously unwatched (by me) walks. So thanks for the walk and get well soon. PS Who doesn't love the smell of a bookstore? I think the older the better actually.😊 Perhaps watching past videos helps with the algorithms; I'm not sure but hey, it couldn't hurt.😄
I'm also team Skechers. I started wearing them years ago and haven't bought any other sneaker brand since. While they aren't always considered the most stylish brand, I can't find another that is as comfortable for me.
That's great! I think some of the designs are cool now, compared to back in the 1990's. hehehe Back then, it wasn't cool to wear Sketchers in high school so most of my classmates wore the main fashional brands like Nike, Adidas, Fila, etc. Thanks for watching!
I also am team Skechers. My bf thinks they’re corny but I love them because they’re comfy and make my big feet look smaller. I wear them everyday, for driving, traveling. I have the slip on ones so it’s easy to take on and off at the airport.
@@nolandderlugner1351 weil das sicherlich einfacher zu übersetzen ist,als wenn ich mit meinen schlechten englisch anfange . Das mach ich immer so und Japaner als auch Koreaner erkennen das richtig
Yeahhhhhhh Back in the 90's they were kind of "not cool" to wear. But they definitely rebranded their image to be the walking shoe for comfort. I'm glad I could find my size. It took ages to find a pair big enough for my feet. lol
Thank you for sharing Cory!! I love Japanese department stores so much and I don’t see many bloggers show what they look like. I can’t wait to go back to Japan so I can spend a few hours browsing. Also thank you for showing clothes and accessories, I know they’re all girly and stuff. I can’t wait to see more!
Enjoyable Department store tour Cory. Thanks for taking the time to show us around that place the food there really does look amazing. Take care have a good week 👍👍😎😎🆒🆒
Walking videos and Google Maps street view are two totally different things and you don't get the same information or experience as you do from videos. But I appreciate your point of view. Thanks for watching!
Great video Cory. I too prefer writing reminders on paper than on my phone. I need to see it in front of me in my diary each day or important reminders on post it’s etc. Appreciate the content. Have a great week 🤗
Thanks! Yeah, there's just something about writing things by hand. I can't take notes or anything on a phone or PC. I'll forget it easily. Stay tuned for the next video!
@@CoryMay81 I’m definitely old school. Same with books 📚 I prefer the feel of turning pages in my hands not kindle or audio books. I love browsing old book stores. Shame security pinged you at the end of this vid, department stores are super hard to get away with hey. Also…not far to go now, only 5k and you hit that milestone (can’t believe you haven’t already tbh). Can’t wait for the next one 🤙🏼
Out of curiosity, what makes this a “department store” and not a “mall”? I would have called it a mall if I saw something similar in the US. Thanks for the tour, Cory!
To me, a department store is a single building, usually more vertical than horizontal, owned by a single company that has different "departments" on each floor (women's dept, men's dept, children's dept, etc). They are not as big as a shopping mall, which covers a much larger area of land and usually isn't as tall as department stores are. Shopping malls usually have food courts, movie theaters, game centers, as well as many stores, kiosks, and whatnot. In Japan, this type of department store is actually called depāto (デパート), which is an derived from the word department. This is all just my assumption and my definition of it. There are probably some actual differences between the two in finer detail that can be found via Google. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for sharing this video. Being from America 🇺🇸, it is overwhelming to see what your kinds of stores offer. I love it. If I were to ever go to your country, you could never get me out of these places. I could spend hours, maybe even days in these stores. I envy you. Keep making these kinds of videos.
You're welcome! Yeah, Japan really does shopping malls and department stores very well. The variety of products are always so interesting to explore. On my days off when I go out, I do spend a lot of time just window shopping and browsing different shops and stuff. It's a lot of fun!
Sure, I can try. But it's a tight fit in there. Every time I go in there, I'm squeezing past customers and staff in the tiny aisles and knocking products over with my arm or backpack. hehehe I've ventured into one briefly in a different video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NyPux1e6nFM.html This link includes the timestamp from when I enter the Kaldi and walk around a bit. It's brief, but at least you get a sense of what it's like to walk inside the tight space. Anyways, thanks for watching!
Yeah! You should check out my "Tokyo's Kitchen District" video and skim towards the part where I show the plastic food display shops, where many of those fake food displays can be bought. It's an art form of using plastic and wax to make very realistic food. Thanks for watching!
Aloha Cory, I love to visit Japan! thank you for your video. Last visit 2019 May!, missed coming to Japan, planning this October after Covid.. You do such a professional video documentation! Roger S.
You're welcome! Thanks for watching it! Oh, Covid messed up your plans. I'm sorry! I hope you can find some time to come out again now. Cheers and aloha!
Hahahah sorry. It's definitely hard to catch everything when there are soooo many things to see. I wish I could film every item and store in greater detail but that would end up being like a 5-hour video and I don't have the time, memory card space, or battery life to do something like that. Thanks for watching dude!
@@ramenpharmacist No no, not at all. I just feel bad for the time you have to spend rewatching, that's all. Time is precious! Thank you for spending it on my videos. lol
I can't promise a video specifically about cosmetics, but if I go to a department store and see some, maybe I'll try to look at them closer. Thanks for watching and commenting!
