In this video, I took about 40 Acer Cuttings on 30th March 2022. Twelve of them survived by the 16th August 2022. I kept them in a clear plastic moisture box in my greenhouse with lid slightly open for air flow. I then moved them to my large open mini greenhouse in the old aviary. One survived by April 2023 but sadly this one 'Limey' died in mid August 2023 mainly due to root shock and also not enough roots supporting too much foliage. The main lesson to be learned here is to not be afraid to cut the plant right down to just a few leaves and branches. This would have allowed the plant to survive without so much work to do as well as time to grow more roots and healthier foliage in the future. I started with more cuttings of the same Acer Palmatum plant in August and October 2023, fingers crossed I may have some of these Acers from 2024 onwards.
