🤍Any other Persona fans? 🖤 I wanna do more video game/anime pilgrimages! Where should I go?? (PS this video was filmed in 2022 oops, but at least it's good timing to release it before Persona Tactica!!)
How about legit Kanto region spots from Pokemon? I know it wont be 100% accurate but there has got to be areas that its somewhat based on. I know there is a legit Kanto in Japan.
Absolutely. Persona is one of my favorite game series. 1 and 2, have unfortunately not aged as well as the rest and they don't have all of the game mechanics that was introduced with Persona 3 and going forward. If you haven't played 3 and 4, then I can definitely recommend them! A remake of P3 will be released on February 2, next year and bring it's graphics inline with P5. P4 had a smaller graphicall upgrade, back in 2020 for Windows and was released for consoles in January of this year. :)
P5 is phenomenal, I played it through a few times when it first came out and then did it again with P5Royal. Really great seeing these places in real life.
Persona 5 is the reason I haven't gotten lost in Shinjuku Station while I'm visiting Tokyo! Even went on a date in Inokashira Park yesterday. Such a cool video! Gonna check out more spots from your video.
That’s so helpful, Shinjuku station is a nightmare! I actually did my first full play through of the game before moving to Tokyo, so I didn’t have as good of a concept of the locations. Now that I’m replaying it after living here, can enjoy the game from a whole new perspective!
Yup I played the OG non royal, but I'm replaying it on my switch with the updated royal version atm. But I'm doing it in Japanese since there was no English language option for the physical version available in japan, so taking me way longer to progress 😂
Persona is easily my favorite game series. One of the reasons I started watching youtubers from Japan was to see more of the real Japan that I had previously only seen from games, manga & anime and the Persona games was probably the most important in creating my interest in Japan.
OMG I literally did this like three days ago. If you go all the way down the Leblanc alley, you end up at a bus stop, which is where Ryuji gets told off by Shido’s entourage. Also the grocery store is not on the Main Street that it is in the game. I think the neighbourhood didn’t seem as similar as the game (it’s been many years), but the metro station is almost identical. I put my camera away thinking I was done and had to whip it out when I got on the platform.
This area has a lot of character. Maybe it's because the UK is pretty grotty, but a slightly less pristine part of Japan like this looks very welcoming to me 😆
Wow Sarah you have been putting out soooo much content recently, I hope it is paying off for you and you are seeing your channel grow and grow, I have loved watchin your vids from day one and they have just gotten better and better, u maybe don’t see it in yourself but you have a real talent for this, keep up the great work!! 💙
Persona 5 royal is also my fav game and I'm very surprised to see in-game locations are based from real places. Really cool to see around Sogenjaya and Shibuya! Definitely my top places to check out when I'm going to Japan
I have played Persona 5 Strikers and I remember sanganjaya = yongenyaya as Cafe Leblanc (Hideout attic). It was nice to recognize same kind of real buildings and structures as in the game. And have a kind of Deja vu feeling suddenly. Also nice way to attach character comments with real landscapes.
I didn’t know Persona had a lot of real life locations! I knew Makoto Shinkai films and Yakuza games had some real life locations, so I should’ve guessed it would. A big surprise for me was finding out the Route 2 road from my Pokémon game on the OG Gameboy, shared the same name as the real Route 2 in Japan.
I'm also a big fan of Persona 5 in Korea. I'm going to visit Tokyo tomorrow and going to Sangerzaya and Shibuya, and I think this video will be very helpful for reference!! I'll keep that in mind. Thank you very much.
I haven't played Persona 5 (yet) but it was really cool to see this regardless! I plan on playing it eventually, so I'll definitely watch this video again when I do! Also, those curries looked really good!
The curry in the game is a Japanese style curry that adopts many different aspects of Japanese ingredients like apples and dark chocolate making me believe it's a beautiful balance between sweetness and spiciness that goes well with a nice black coffee
Sangenjaya is my hometown and i used to live there for over 20 years but have no idea where these locations are lol They look super different from the area I lived
Joker's perceived as a delinquent at first but Shigenori Soejima said that he wanted Joker to come off as an innocent law abiding student to hide his double life hence why he also where's the glasses to give him more of an innocent look
Personally (😉), I've only just discovered a latent love for the waky and weird storytelling at the core of the Yakuza series. I suspect that at some point, an appetite for the Persona universe will also spring forth. 🍵
Didnxt realize how much they made the game *exactly* like the locations. Especially didnxt expect that for Sangenjaya, since they changed the name of the neighborhood in the game.
4 minutes from Sangen-Jaya to Shibuya, plus however many minutes from Shibuya to Aoyama Itchome. Maybe the reason you get to read on the train so seldom is that it can only happen when you get good seats on both trains.
Too bad the batting cages were closed. I was way too slow to land a hit with their machine, but the worker does acknowledge the facility being in the game.
...BY THE WAY...REGARDING GAME'S POPULARITY....WHY NOT SOMEONE TO BUYOUT THE CAFEE TO MAKE IT ACTUAL LEBLANC.......AS WELL AS AIRSOFT SHOP TOO, HEHE .....OKOKOK OVERUSED IDEA LIKE EVERYONE DO ACTUALLY *WANT* , HEHE...SO MAYBE........
