We all know that Jareth was jealous of Hoggle's friendship with Sarah. Hence why he threatened Hoggle that if Sarah ever kiss him, he throw him into the bog of eternal stench "Prince of the land of stench."
Nah that's the reason for the skunk dude to pop up for all we know the realm made him say it for plot reasons because in that realm nothing makes sense and little has no meaning and hoggle didn't fall into the bog of eternal stench but since he didn't fall into it the realm needed something to rely upon and so yeah he just screwed himself over with that threat and we all wish he was the one who came out on top in the end but they got a skunk who was super cocky because of him and kept making cocky quotes which the realm used as a way to destroy his minions

I gotta love a jealous Jareth ;-) I love all things Jim Henson, the storyteller, Dark Crystal... I know the soundtrack of many of those and I sometimes share music tributes. I know it was not appropiate, but Jareth is such an amazing anti-hero. Childhood crush for me!
if there was a sequel, maybe jareth could have took another baby after toby and raised it has his son and now the son is the new goblin king after jareths passing ? that still makes jareth relevant
Unpopular opinion: hoggle is my favorite character he rlly cares abt Sarah but the part where jereth says “if she ever kisses you I’ll turn u into a prince” hoggle seems excited just completely confuses me? Perhaps he’s tired of being a goblin or something else? Idk but still he’s a very good friend to Sarah
I guess there could be a few reasons why Hoggle seems excited. Being a prince alludes to having power, a life of comfort, being conventionally attractive, and the possibility of being on near equal terms with Jareth. But it could also be a weird hint to him having a crush on Sarah, which is a disturbing thought

Hollywood would be stupid af in rebooting this classic! Bowie, with the help of Jim Henson’s direction, and George Lucas producing the film made this film the 80s classic it is. They’d do stupid shit like have Cardi B or Post Malone play Jareth, have all scenes taking place in the Labyrinth be in a green screen environment! Hollywood better not decide to reboot this film!
I know this is random but, As someone who was obsessed with this movie as a child it always bothered me how much jk Rowling was lauded for her originality and imagination creating Harry Potter. Even once in an interview she was being asked where she came up with such wonderful ideas, such as the school name amd she says it just comes to her.....Sarah and Jareth BOTH mistakingly call Hoggle, Hogwart multiple times in this movie.sarah doing so once when hes killing fairies..even the hidden train platform is copied from the begining maze scene where she can't find an opening and meets the worm. There's loads she's copied and pasted throughout the movie, it's concepts, ideas, not easily noticeable, like when Disney copy and past their animation mechanics into other movies.
And this is why the skunk that wears prince's outfit pops up right after hoggle says "why did you have to kiss me like that" when they met up and the protagonist throws herself at hoggle and they get sent to the bog of eternal stench but avoid falling into it
