One of the selections I reserved judgment on during the 2024 NFL Draft was Jarrian Jones. I'll give my final thoughts on the pick and how he'll fit in Jacksonville!

He checks the Baalke Boxes. Fast, inside/outside versatility, and - most importantly - high character guy that seems to love the sport.

The point regarding Jones and Savage doesn't sound crazy at all. You almost always overpay in free agency, so you bring in a guy for 2-3 years and draft his potential replacement so you can save that cap space down the line. They did exactly that with Rayshawn Jenkins recently for example, it's smart roster building strategy. Where did you end up ranking TJ Tampa and Khyree Jackson? Those are the two CBs I was eyeing up ahead of Jones in the 3rd round...

I had Tampa just outside my top fifty while Jackson was somewhere around eighty. I took Tampa in my mock rebuild.

Tampa and Jackson were "my guys" as well. I had Tampa as a solid second round pick. I was also a huge fan of Renardo Green as well, who I had ranked slightly higher. Had it been me making the decisions, I would've taken the trade down as we did and drafted WR BTJ in round 1, traded down in round 2 and drafted CB Renardo Green, taken WR Javon Baker with our compensatory pick in round 3, taken OG/C Tanor Bortolini with pick #114, taken CB .J. Tampa with pick #116, taken Edge Brennan Jackson with pick #153, taken OT Walter Rouse with pick #167, taken K Cam Little with our compensatory pick in round 6 and taken DT Marcus Harris with our final selection.

Baker was another guy I would've taken. I think he's gonna be really good.

I really like the jones pick. I think he will be great as a jaguar and I think he can play both outside and inside, but again I still feel like they should have taken a cb in the second or even anyone of them that fell in the fourth like tampa, cam hart, Kyree jackson, Kris Abrams draine. Like so many corners that could play outside for you. But I guess they just liked deantre prince over all those guys and hopefully jjones can maybe play outside at some point

Also his stats like passer rating and allowed yards when he played outside were actually pretty good and his slot stats were very good compared to other corners who played in the slot so hopefully his stats translate to the jags

My only problem with this pick is that I believe Jones is a much better NB than he is an outside CB and my main concern is depth behind Ronald Darby. With that said, I really liked the pick, because I had Jones as the top rated Nickle in the draft. I think he will eventually be the starting Nickle corner and I think he will be a lock down player at the position. On the other hand, if Darby does get hurt, I see a bunch of "meh" type players backing him up. They mostly consist of guys who are either pretty un-athletic or guys who are athletic, but were pretty "ho-hum" in coverage. I'm just not sold on Deantre Prince either. He was pretty average in college. I was just wondering, you mentioned you started scouting OT's for 2025 and you really like a player not ranked very highly by PFF. I find myself in the same position. Who is the player you like? The player I am very high on is West Virginia OT Wyatt Milum. This guy does everything well and looks great in games. He only gave up 9 hurries, 0 hits and 0 sacks in 337 pass block sets last season and hasn't given up a sack since moving to LT as a Sophomore. He's currently my top rated OT, followed by Will Campbell of LSU, Kelvin Banks Jr. of Texas and Ajani Cornelius of Oregon.

It’s Josh Simmons, he has some work to do in the strength game but he has some ridiculous athletic tools.

@@cardiacatsbrand Agreed. He's on my list too. The guys I'm currently watching are Milum of WV, Banks Jr. of Texas, Campbell of LSU, Cornelius of Oregon, Simmons of OSU, Greene III of Georgia, Davis of Illinois and Conerly Jr. of Oregon. I'm also gonna scout the Centers and OG's very carefully too. We should go heavy on the O-Line in 2025. At least the 2025 OT class looks pretty deep.

For sure, there's a lot of guys hovering around late first to early second right now in my rankings.
