Same!!! I looooved how he sang this... When he was in AI me and my sister were soooo in LOOOVE with him , after he did this song , omg....I was DONE FOR😊😂 I wanted to MARRY him!!! When I found out right after the show that he was married and had a kid on the way , I was so SAD!!!🥺😢 Lol ... He really is so so great!!

I remember watching this season and being completely obsessed with Jason Castro. I loved his eyes so much. And he's gorgeous too. My mom couldn't understand why I thought he was cute. She didn't like his dreads but I think they make him who he is . But he has true talent.
This was the season that I actually tried to watch every single week with my whole family. I still remember the huge crush my mom had on him, haha. Very talented young man.
This is one of the few songs from Idol singers that I continue to go back and hear. It still touches my heart. Love his voice and his spirit. I'm so glad he's found a home with Christian Music.
I just came home from the last winter jam of the year (San antonio, tx) HE WAS AMAZING we took pictures with him and got autographs :)). there were so many other AMAZING artist and it only cost 10 dollars to get in!!!
He's touring right now. Played a concert at my school today and played this song. It sounds much much better now. Album this coming spring. Got to talk to him and his guitar player quite a bit, both really really nice guys.
I saw him at winter jam last night here in Tennessee l I luv his voice he's amazing I got 2 of his CDs last night I got them signed at a photo I was a winer and I got up front with the two saved seats for the winners and he touched my hand I cried when he singed this song live bc it was amazing

On this I can agree to disagree. But there are a few other people who did great renditions. And this guy has potential... but not the emotion or should I say passion to pull this song off. It was obvious he was just singing words and didn't feel the song. Jeff sang it with conviction & that's why in my opinion this guy didn't do the song justice. But I agree, he does have a nice voice.

Buautiful interpretation of song. Voice blends so well with the chords. Paula's comments are spot on! Simon is, of course, absolutely right on this occasion. Who can say no to a heavenly voice like this! Thumbs up for Jason who should have won.
Okay so I don’t actually watch this show but I’ve listened to this a million times thanks to yt algorithms bc this is my favorite version and that’s wild to say but it’s true so after many years I figured I should watch his actual performance and geezus, he’s absolutely adorable
I have just stumbled across this and cannot believe this guy. He is fantastic. cannot believe that he didn't win. I absolutely love his voice. Definitely will be buying his album which has recently come out.
for those who dont know, jason castro is major christian, and he said in an interview it was amazing for him to be able to sing "hallelujah" cause thats a sacred word for God just look up Jason Castro i am second
I had to look this vid up again just to hear Jason sing it. So much emotion and connection to the song and the people he's singing it to. Tim just couldn't do it. Can't wait to hear this on Jason's upcoming cd!!
haha omg. i so remember this. this is when i fell in loooooooooove with Jason Castro! and I then proceeded to write his name on my door. and decorated a pair of skinny jeans, wearing them every tuesday and wednesday to school :) And calling to vote, falling asleep in my bed with the phone up to my ear pressing redial hundreds of times! haha ohh Jr. High :)
Man i definitely remember loving him way back when he was on the show :O I think the contestants on American Idol now are MUCH better and more experienced, but I remember the days like this when it was just pure singing like Jason's.
Watching Iam Tongi videos today. I haven’t watched American idol on tv in yeaaars . But Iam tongi reminded me of Jason Castro. Just because they were both such genuinely talented artists on the show .
