If you stand up for your players as a coach, even while using a bit of cursing, I think that is always a good thing. He is also right about everything he said. And when you're right, there isn't a whole lot you can do wrong as long as you keep your temper in check. Nothing but respect for the man.

He literally said in question that Mavs are now among best in clutch. That is a positive. Grumpy McGee was given a softball where he could have talked about how they have only played a few months together with Irving and they are getting better the more they grow together. Could have talked about the additions, etc. It was NOT a hard or negative question so to say "more positive" is simply idiotic.

Other than he's completely wrong obviously. Reporters write angles and stories that get clicks and eyeballs. Throwing shade at Kyrie or Lebron or whatever great player gets way more clicks and eyeballs than a positive one. So yeah reporters are to blame, but so is the audience for what they want to read. I'm not saying Kidd's frustration was misplaced, only that it was not 100% a fact that people will read positive stories, it was 100% inaccurate.

Nope. They need to be able to handle anything reporters say (unless it crosses a line about something like race, their family, etc) without their feeling hurt. They get payed that much, they can handle it.

He's literally doing what is asked of him, answering the question. But he is also in a respectful tone completely doing what is necessary to correct this reporter on what he has been doing wrong over his career. As a reporter you cannot pick and choose all the negative stuff, you report facts .. and the fact is: they are good now and he doesn't report it. This man needs to learn to do his job.
