Former NHLer and Got Yer' Back Podcast Host Jason Strudwick joined the guys and recapped the Canucks Game 3 victory and the lack of pushback by the Oilers on the hits Connor McDavid took at the end of the game.
So what if Soucy gets a one game suspension, you know Juulsen is just waiting to get in and throw the body as well. The Canucks didn't get 50 wins this season just because of Demko or that we were 6th in the league in scoring, but also because the team is seven deep on defense for the first time since forever. Tocchet is great but adding Foote and Gonchar to the coaching staff as well has also really improved this team. They could probably even make Nurse a good defensivemen.
Played at the hockey helps the homeless tourny in edmonton with Strudwick. Was good to see him out there, but he did have an awful giveaway at the point on the offensive zone with the game on the line. Step it up Struddy. See ya next year....
Not to mention the intentional spear to the nuggets clearly shown repeatedly on national TV .... AND the multiple slew foots by Kane. Those cheap shots have all been "suspendible" offences when done by other players on other teams.... oh yes ... the unwritten "Gretzky Effect" ... we can't do anything to decrease McJesus' chance for a Cup!
In case you didn't see it, Hyman did come in and cross checked Zadorov in the side of the face/head so if Soucy got a game why the hell did Hyman not ??? Biased league BS!
Excellent point about which Edmonton player should have been the one standing up for McDavid. During the regular season maybe, but during the playoffs where you can suffer injury or suspension? Not worth it!
Strudy, Evander Kane can fight those guys, Desharnais is bigger than either one of them and fight too, Darnell Nurse has been a deadly scrapper in the past,.. they have options to push back against them.
It's way too much pressure to pin your playoff hopes on a 3rd stringer like Pickard. At least the Canucks had an excuse to do that. Ya Skinner is a playoff choker and everyone should have known that before this series but the only way for the Oilers to win a cup is to double down on him and hope he plays well enough to restore his confidence. Their coach is terrible and overrated; against Vancouver he choked just as bad as Skinner when he started playing McDrai together for 30 mins a game thus destroying the confidence of the rest of his team. It's early round 2 not game 7 of the finals. Crazy. Now he's choking again by playing Pickard in a mark of total desperation. Meanwhile Tocchet just rolls his lines and keeps the ship stable. One coach is, clearly, better than the other.
1:51 This is exactly as I saw it. If anyone was a very bad boy, it was Big Zed. He kinda went overkill last night with some of his antics. Glad it didn't cost the Canucks the game, because he's been such a positive and powerful force all over the ice. 7:18 Luck, or poor marksmanship. Semantics... Unless of course the Oilers want to be crowned the 2024 Stanley Post champions, I'm going to go with "maybe they need to hit the net, but not the posts." 40+ saves means luck had very little to do with it. 12:59 Speaking of players playing more minutes... +looks at Oilers forward group+
5:23 What!?!? What Canucks fan who has any actual clue about the game is feeling good about themselves right now? The last 30 minutes of that game was ugly last night night! The Canucks were SO lucky to hang on for dear life. There is no "feeling good about ourselves". And Jason, you might have gone after Zadorov, but I remember you when you played. You were a fringer at best, and NOT a tough guy. Talking like he would have been in there? ROFLMAO!
Well it IS 2-1 Canucks with their 3rd string goalie so there’s plenty to feel good about. Skinner DOESN’T play for the Canucks so there’s that to feel good about. Yeah yeah they gave up 22 shots in the third but the high danger chances were 1-1, so there’s that too. End of story, it’s a best of 7 and it’s 2-1. Nothing else matters. It’s how but how many.
