Jasper Wrath - Odyssey - 1971 

I was one of the bartenders at charlies and thought they where a very underrated band. I saw them a few times live and thought they had a great sound

I own the original Sunflower LP of this, although missing the insert. Anyways, way cool cover and this song always makes my day whenever I hear it, truly a highlight.

Here's where you'll find Jeff Cannata the leader of this awesome band. My brother was their road and stage manager and drove their red, white and blue school bus as far as Ohio before the band wanted to return back home. That was shortly after this album was produced.

The LP was top ten at New Haven, CT's WNHC and WAVZ (at least, and possibly others I don't know) in July 1971.

I would take exception to the genre "Hippy Rock" and argue that they were one of the best Progressive Rock bands around. They had three LPs out. The original "Jasper Wrath" LP and two bootlegs that are still available - "The Ghost Of Way" credited to Zoldar & Clark and "Coming Back" credited to the band Arden House, both released on Dellwood Records. There also was an "Anthology" 2-CD package released in 1996. It was compiled by Jeff Cannata and released by Oxford House. VERY rare, but buy it if you find it!

This is fantastic! Outstanding! I love the vinyl.....I want my turntable back. Are there more underground/forgotten psychedelic bands out there from this era? I love this and I always have! Strawberry Alarm Clock, Cream, etc.
