Great New Haven based band. Jasper Wrath morphed in Eyes at some point in the mid seventies. I remember seeing Jasper Wrath at the University of New Haven student union in 73 or 74. They had a light show and pyrotechnics. Very impressive stuff. Scott Zito is now Principal at Platt Tech in Milford.
I lived across the Sound on Long Island . WPLR in New Haven came in clearer than WNEW or PLJ. This takes me back to the days of Stoneman and “Your old pal, Mal”. Check your bucket!
I loved this song...and was so happy they were from Connecticut....this song was underrated ....I was talking about this song at work last year....my girlfriend went to school with the lead singer..small world ....This song is beautiful 😍
Ok I just fell through a time portal and I am back at Toads Place in 1975....weird...fun! Had front row seat many times for this band..really remember the performance at Southern.
Reminds me of Yes in many ways, James Cristian was/and is terrific! Still waiting for a remake of this tune. I think it could be a resurrected hit! Are you seeing this, James? I already mentioned this to you. Rock on! :) Doctor Rocker :)
Wow! 1975! Where did the time go? So glad I got to experience the 70's and 80's when I was young. Such great memories! And every time I hear a song from that time period, it makes me smile. And here it is, almost 2018! Happy New Year! May you all find what you are looking for!
This is one of those songs I happened to "catch on the radio" a couple of times when I was a kid... and I just LOVED it. But i completely forgot about it, until the other day I heard another song that must have had a similar quality, and suddenly distant memories of this tune came to me. I desperately tried to unscramble it... couldn't remember the name of the band, just Jasper something... and a few lyrics and a powerful build. Now. voila... here it is. It doesn't hold quite the magic for me that it once did, but I so get why I loved it so much. Cool.
Incredible! Takes me back to prom. They were Eyes then and did great covers like cross eyed Mary by Jethro Tull! But when they played You.... the dance floor was packed! Still sounds great! Thanks for posting! If you ever want to sell that album I am VERY interested!!
I was there with you my friend! That show was so freaking good! America and Connecticut's JethronTull!!! IMO... I chased Eyes around too for their progressive moments! 😍🔥😭🤩🔥❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hello nutmeggers! I bought an old Guild Madeira from Jimmy...still have it... can't play it... Lol. sharing this with my grandson a prodigy guitarist 🤗
Many Connecticut bands like Little Village and Geoffrey Crayon, Gentlemen did their version of this jingle. The father of one of the players in Geoffrey crayon gentlemen owned the Subways franchise in Connecticut
Thank you! I've been looking for this song for, well, a lot longer than I care to admit! This was a favorite of mine as a teenager, but I long ago wore out the 45.
This song was realesed only as a single in 1975. There are are CD versions of the "Jasper Wrath"(1971) incluinding it. You can find it also in the "Anthology" album (1996).
