The saddest thing is, Jaune was always going to take that stopwatch from the tree, he didn't have a choice, it already happened before he was born. You could say, it was destiny.
So he pulled a white rabbit and became the rusty knight? How will Jaune get back to normal then? Also dumb idea, the bring back Torchwick as the mad hatter.😂
Anyone else want “RWBY Fairy Tales V2: The Adventures of the Rusted Knight”? Changes in armor alone suggest he did a lot more than just sit and wait that whole time.
@@darkabel16jose some episodes would be, but not all of them would have to be bummers. I suspect the Rusted Knight went on plenty of adventures to map out as much as he did, and they don’t all have to be messed up.
Man, this was just pure intense. Alyx being as evil and dangerous as Cinder, Jaune getting sent to the past and becoming the Rusted Knight, Winter becoming a Maiden, Penny’s death, the Jabberwocky’s attack… just… pure intensity of the moment.
@@stevenkurtz2730 i don't think she did I think it was the cat that escaped by sacrificing lewis. My theory is that she came across to jeaun as mean because she knew deep down that there was something wrong with the ever after so meanwhile the cat fascinated with the stories of remnant lured her brother the kind and gullible one to the tree to sacrifice him and escape. When alyx found out she suspected jeaun to be in on it so she poisoned him and went to the tree to save her brother only to find her brother had already been turned into the jabberwock so she decided to stay in the ever after and find a way to save her brother becoming the blacksmith. Meanwhile in remnant the cat is free but he is still programmed to feed the tree so he writes a wonderful story about the ever after so that the people of remnant will seek that place and he can continue to feed the tree😮
But unlike Cinder, Alyx had a change of heart and wanted to stay behind to correct the mistakes she committed until the Cat killed her. I see Alyx as more of a selfish brat who preferred to take shortcuts to solve problems. Hell, the Cat even instigated her actions further to fuel his own agenda. And Penny's death wasn't entirely Jaune's fault. It's more so the fault of her own recklessness. Thanks to her mind being clouded by insecurities, grief, self-doubt, self-blame and feeling like a puppet on strings eager to do her own thing, she didn't listen to them in going through the portal and because of that, she lost the Relic and her life. She failed to understand how much her life truly mattered to them and how much the Relic mattered to the whole world. She even blamed herself for Winter's condition but that's better than Winter being dead. If she didn't take the power, Winter could've been killed and Cinder would've brought the Kingdom its knees. From being framed for murder, to getting gaslighted and to getting blackmailed, she believed sacrifice was the only solution. And we all know what happens when you try doing the same thing over and over again and expect different results. She made their efforts to save her and the Relic be in vain. I'm not trying to sound like I'm mad at her, I'm only mad at what she did. She had good intentions but she didn't think of the consequences. And her showing not guilt for what she made Jaune do just further proves her obliviousness. Jaune carried the guilt for literally decades and the same thing could've happened to him and Ruby if they didn't find themselves.
Jean is receiving so much trauma from the beginning of RWBY that it is really unfair: Bullyism, rejected by the girl he likes (Weiss), Try to have a relationship with Pyrra when she was upset because the maiden power, Failing to protect Fall, Seeing Pyrra to sacrifice herself and putting him away with ease, be unable to be of any use against Cynder in their first duel, Killing Penny, Be useless against Cynder again, Fail to go away from the pocket dimension, Being pushed years in the past just for a random item, Solitude, Betrayed by the only humans he met after years ... and also in any moment of peace to be considered the weak and the comic relief of the parties also when was clear that he was goving the 110% to be in par with guys that had ages of training over him. Really, I don't know how he "cheated" the exam to enter in Beacon, but also in that case was more a stupidly dangerous thing that a morally wrong thing, but all the RWBY universe seems to hate this guy a lot, when he pratically never did anything selfish or wrong.
i bet ozpin knew that jaune cheated just from seeing him on his first day, and decided not to kick him out for some reason or another - maybe seeing his potential
As a fan, the meaning of team JNPR didn't really affect me up until Pyrrha disintegrated and my heart cannot prepare for Jaune's destiny. For either Nora & Ren..... However, legends are formed by heroic acts and these tragic characters are forever loved. My ONLY selfish wish is for Jaune to take down EVIL Cinderella lol
@@partyrock4144 beside what Cinder do to Jaune? Well my answer is Cinder killed girl who have crush on Jaune and made Jaune have to kill Penny so that's enough for Jaune(with Ruby) to kill Cinder once for all
2:24 So is anyone else EXTREMELY curious why Crescent Rose is wreathed in red flames? And also seems to be the red comet that kinda NUKES the Ever After at the start of the opening?
When ruby sees it and it everything feels to go dark around it, with a stinging noise to it - and us knowing from the blacksmith that weapons seem to carry a part of the person, their burden, maybe part of the personality, hope and dreams - then it might be that crescent rose is absolutely overloaded with trauma and negative emotions at the moment. it might be that ruby will be scared to pick it up in the upcoming episodes, if i had to make a guess.
@@Laserstormelpies That would make sense because Neo was also a comet of "fire" when she came down, and when she got up she looked so angry. Since she had been fighting Ruby before and during the fall, she'd be full of the rage at the moment of her falling. Sure the others were comets, but I don't think they fell completely covered in their color like that. We saw their comets but Neo's seemed much worse.
My question is that when Jaune returns Crescent Rose, he mentions that he's had it for a while. It fell shortly before Ruby, so how does that track? At most, he could have had it for a few days, unless something weird is going on.
@@luminozero Yeah, going by what we've seen it looks like the 'clockwork orange' Jaune picked reset Ruby, Weiss, Blake, Yang and Neo's falling into the Ever After, but NOT Crescent Rose, which seems to have been down there just as long if not longer than Jaune has at this point. Which I'd say is yet more evidence that there's something WEIRD going on with Crescent Rose.
@@finaldarkfire he take crescent but doesn't have when he landed so crescent doesn't no stay in same timeline. Probably go back in time. So crescent just exist in after before he take the clock and fall away from he because he move it when switch the clock. He looks like doesn't have soul for this and maybe doesn't affect where Ruby soul (crescent) falls so its red aura and emotions still just like when it falls. Edit. Sorry my English I don't even talk it. u.u
They are in a battle. People tend to forget stuffs during war, most people can only focus themselves. She not used to her maiden powers and is blinded by rage due to Weiss' fall. Its an honest mistake. But i think its better writing if Jaune fell the same way Weiss did. Maybe this will be a plot after Jaune returns, still broken and have a newfound hate against Winter. Idk
It was probably adrenaline. A lot was going through her head at the time. She just obtained the maiden powers from Penny and helped everyone out against Cinder. Plus she saw her sister fall and probably think she's dead.
She left before anything dangerous started happening, nothing was vanishing, just making noises. And at least she tried to go back for him when she did figure out something was about to happen, it just happened to be too late when she got an audio cue It isn’t like Jaune asked for help either, he looked, and sounded fine. You wouldn’t have known he was just in a fight if you didn’t have the context
Well if he doesn’t fall in then old Jaune wouldn’t be there, and if rwby is there then he is too late to stop himself from falling in so we’re stuck with old Jaune. Just like Adam, jaune is pretty much pissed away with the potential these characters had
There are two Jaunes in the ever after for a moment, but that Jaune gets sent back. I don't think it affects everybody on the island, i think it only affects what spot in time the person who's holding the watch is in. (Well, it makes sense to me at least)
Here's my unpopular opinion: If Jaune didn't pick up the pocket watch, the events would have been different for him, but he wouldn't be the one who guided Alyx back to Remnant. And, he wouldn't have the knowledge of... Pretty much everything in the Ever After!
The only true free will in RWBY universe comes from Choice. As in magical Choice, which would mean the Relic, the clock fruits, the Tree, and Blacksmith/Brothers. Everything else stable time loops around these, no free will involved.
I want to quickly gush about how much I love the scene in volume 8. When Jaune's sword snaps against Cinder's, the end of it soaked in Penny's blood goes flying off while the rest of the blade left in his hand only has a small amount of blood left splattered on it. Obviously we already know Cinder is the one truly responsible for Penny's death, but I love that visual storytelling as well. The fact that Cinder, in breaking his sword ends up basically reaffirming who's *really* the guilty party in Penny's death is honestly (in my opinion) some of the best storytelling I've ever seen in RWBY.
Jaune getting the pocket watch seems so appropriate like hes the rabbit since he has the pumpkin pete rabbit hoodie. that and the rabbit with his "im late" line seems like a bitter nod to how he was too late to getting through the door.
I didn’t get the stopwatch scene at first but now I think I do. Please correct me if I’m wrong. Jaune originally seemed to have appeared around the same time as the group but when he took the stopwatch it took him back a few years in time. Then Jaune had to wait extra long for the rest to fall.
Not few. Girl who fell though the world is a well known world wide children fairy tale, not children's fiction. To beacome such a omni-cultural legacy at least a century should pass. So basically In Remnant years Jaune is now literary more than century old.
When they leave Ever After, I sure hope Jaune returns to normal and that it wasn’t years back in Remnant after the flood in Atlas. There’s just too much grief in the world.
if i’ve calculated correctly. remnant is now on the same time at we left off. honestly i think when they go back, little to no time will have passed in remnant after flood.
What if there were two Jaunes? The one in the Everafter and the one who fell. He did go back in time so it would make sense. Plus if Penny is still dead, then that must mean there has to be another Jaune to have put her out of her misery. (I didn't want to say kill because we all know Cinder is the one responsible for her death)
Yes yes yes. She should've died in the finale of v5. But noooo we have to kill off a beautiful and majestic character and keep the annoying af cocky villain. Salem got killed by them in like 10 minutes but cinder in the finale is powerful af? Is she more powerful than salem? Because just sayin Salem wouldn't have survived that fall in v5.
Hm... so if they figure out how to leave the Ever After, and he's able to find that clock tree again... couldn't he theoretically use that to go back in time and save Pyrrha?
Thats what i was thinking like 2 week ago, that mean they can stop salem? And save phyrra; but if you see (like me) legends of tomorrow, you should know that you simply cant change too much the timeline
He was so close to meeting them. Those 4 comets were RWBY falling into the world, and he was SO close. My heart broke as I watched him miss his first chance to see them.😢
@@danielamosti1069 Alyx was already horrible to begin with. Maybe her illusion got through to her and made her believe that everyone around her is going to betray her. Ruby almost got manipulated to just give up and (possibly) going to ascend and to try to get a new personality. The illusions aren’t meant to turn you bad, just something to weigh you down. Like how Yang’s illusion gave Yang the false reality to turn back time and get her arm back, Blake’s illusion made Blake conflict with herself with being a faunus, and Weiss’ illusion tried to make Weiss relive her cold life.
@@FinnianRowland this is what im sayn, i dont mean ruby turn bad, i think only she change, like v1 she love crescent rose, in v9 c6 she look at it and it seems she have pstd
@@parthchoudhary5534 they mean the time travel stuff but no he wouldn't be like eren cause eren moves and interacts with memories jaune is actually there
Me seeing this in the comment section multiple times and not knowing wtf u guys keep referencing Eren for seeing as I dropped AOT a long time ago.........ok.......
Winter saw that he was running behind her and saw that the portal bridges were starting to disappear but when she was gonna go back for him she already halfway through the doorway to Vacuo and it sucked her in
Thinking about it now, I'm thinking Alyx never actually left. I think Louis left, and he wrote the story everyone knows. The Curious Cat never actually saw Alyx leave, or give Louis to the tree, so its possible Louis is the one who went back to Remnant
What I like after watching this video was that little detail in the end that mentioned how you can see the others flying back when Jaune accidentally rewound time, it's such a small brief detail that you likely miss it off of first glance because it happens so fast. I'm really glad that RWBY left some Easter Eggs in this volume that would be hard to find on your first reaction as it gives this volume more replay value.
I think that jaune will return to normal because he entered and will exit at the same time as team rwby Also the thing when he fell even tho he fell later it seems like he fell much later than team rwby
Just pointing out that Alex might have Silver Eyes. Her eyes seems to be the only well detailed part of her, and you can see Jaune's eye colour is well represented so maybe ?
I've been really sad since his reveal because It kind of feels like jaune died. And in a way he did. The jaune we knew isn't here anymore. at least he has his memory. If he didn't it would be even worse.
Damn RWBY, how much taruma are ya gonna put him through? God, i wanna hold him and give the love and attention he deserves 🥺😢😭 if this sweet boy is gone in this volume, there will be a bigger outrage than Penny's death (Still miss my sweet robo girl 😢)
Intersting that they combined the white rabbit, the white knight and the time rust into one character. He literally rides a Jackalope and is always talking about being late, the stop watch imagery with his rusted white armor. sad life for our boy. Saddest part is jaune loved the little bunny on the cereal box. hes still wearing the hoodie with the bunny on it.
Oh no I just realized something....Jaune's name is a reference to Joan of Arc, who was burned at the stake over false accusations of witchcraft, and all of this season's main antagonists(Curious Cat, Neo) are particularly good at deception and manipulation.....pls don't let this mean what I think it means
Am I the only one who have problems to see neo's fall in this scene? I mean, I do not doubt about it, but it's really hard for my to see the pink in this sky. She is much more visible in the night.
It's take a man to remember what he's alive for and there's a Truman that will honor his fallen friends and team with the name he gave his mount he will never forget what he's fighting for
I’ve always loved team JNPR and it breaks my heart to see them all go what they’ve gone through and even a part of me wishes this never happened to them, especially Jaune.
I did not see it before when I first watched the episode but now I can see that Team RWBY comets actually fly in reserve as Jaune is going back in time
Doesn't this mean that if they are fast enough, Jaune could send his younger self back with team RWBY? He ends up in the Ever After, after the team, then touches the... WAIT where is the lil shack he built as the rusted knight, when he arrives as Jaune he should see the shack he is going to build already in place. what did he pack up the thing at some point? omg they are just gonna keep him old forever aren't they... FINE! I guess.
The Rusted Knight would have had to let Jaune pluck the Clock so that Jaune could go back and become the Rusted Knight. That means the Rusted Knight was likely watching from the bushes as Jaune plucked the Clock.
@@corgizx Again, not how any of that works. Not even we understand how Alyx got back, let alone Jaune. Knowing how little we do, I don't think he could have left if he wanted to.
The stable time loop, that's what. Jaune *can't* go back in time to Volume 3, or we would've actually already seen this weird aged-up, rusted version of Jaune *in* Volume 3.
So sticking to the fairy tail, do y’all think Jaune will end up like the white rabbit and stay behind after guiding team Rwby. Or get killed off in the show. I have 2 explanations why both will happen. In my opinion, WHAT THE FUCK IS WAITING FOR THIS GUY IN REVENANT; MORE PAIN AND SUFFERING! There really isn’t a reason for him to go back to revenant think about it. I feel like when they make it to the tree Rwby will find a way to make it back to the real world but Jaune will remember all the horrible things he gone through and even more on the fact that he also wanted to be the hero HE FAILED CUZ HE GOT TRICKED BY ALYX. After all this time when he found out he can be the hero and he failed bro like what. So you guys might be thinking (alright maybe on of the members might help him by falling in love with him) like who? Blake and Yang are shipped so they don’t count. Weiss, after volumes of denying him now finds him more mature but that’s because he’s old now, y’all think she’ll love jaune for jaune or the old one so that’s a maybe (I’ll go back to that in a minute) What about Rwby that’s a good pick right? NO BC HE HAS TO TELL HER ABOUT PENNY! So that’s a no on all fronts, back to Weiss. Both her and him end up chasing relationships and found denial her with Neptune and him with Weiss so maybe that can help but we don’t know. So in conclusion nothing for him in the real world, and basically him failing on repeat in the ever after. Hence he’ll get killed off.
He has Ren, Nora, his family and a score to settle with Cinder. At this point he should be the one to end her evil doings at least that's what I think.
I noticed everyone's talking about the clockwork orange and all I gotta say is; I personally don't think it is since Roman Torchwick was alluded to the clockwork orange ( at least he originally did according to the book that has the concept art and such that I got years ago) but hey its cool if that thing was based on it too.
How long as Jaune been in the Everafter? Depends how long the dilation between the Everafter and the real world is really. Alyx and Louis don't have color names. Which means they're children before or during the Great War with the Vytal Treaty and Color Naming Scheme. He could had been in the Everafter for an entire century. Both the Cat and Jaune refuse to give an exact time after all.
Your were right jaune has been there before the Great War since Alex and Lewis are from that time making jaune a person from the future for them which the war took perhaps more than a century
Best season as far as story telling go's so far. I actually think this might be based on a maguwa comic called "The world after the fall." someone said that RUBY was story boarded from the beginning which would thus predate that maguwa, but I don't really buy into that they must have gotten at least some of their Ideas from the Korean comic series.
@@hydellas678 Just like "The world after the fall." you can decipher most of what's going on if you understand that none of it is real it's a metaphysical representation of possibly the afterlife otherwise it's some kind of magic created reality.
I want to point out RWBY's OP 1 lyrics and how this season has really tied in with that. This will be the day we've waited for This will be the day we open up the door I don't wanna hear your absolution Hope you're ready for a revolution? Welcome to a world of new solutions Welcome to a world of bloody evolution In time, your heart will open minds A story will be told And victory is in a simple soul Your world needs a great defender Your world's in the way of harm You want a romantic life A fairy tale that's full of charm Beware that the light is fading Beware as the dark returns This world's unforgiving Even brilliant lights will cease to burn Legends scatter Day and night will sever Hope and peace are lost forever This will be the day we've waited for
All winter could’ve done was take jaune while she was flying and take him to the portal if jaune ends up staying in the ever after or dying i blame winter
So when he picked up the watch he rewind time, and those lights going back up in the sky was team RWBY. So thats why he's older, it's because he technically got there years before team rwby 🤯
It kinda does. Watch it again you can see the comets are going backwards instead of forwards. He ended up going back into time by accident and thanks to that the guy kinda broke time a little by touching the clock making it seem he was the first when Really he's the last.
Wait Jaune can turn back time ? Dude just find a way to get back to your world grab one of those watches Go back in time and save the hunter school Or even better go back in time as much as you can and kill Salem when she still a baby
He couldn’t control how fast the clock goes by. And what happens if one of the clocks speeds up time instead? Also have you not heard of the butterfly effect? Not everything that has time travel as a solution should be solved with time travel. What if killing Salem makes something far worse happen? Sometimes the time line you’re in the is the best one.
What if this Jaune dies but because of all the time travel shenanigans, they find the one that didn't pick the pocketwatch fruit yet? In fact why didn't he stop himself from picking it since he probably knows where he picked it, he would just need to look out for when the meteors eventually fell since he had no clue how far back he went.
