Secure heel , no blister, comfortable instep , ability to splay toes, no toe rub , no numbness , quarters not touching = good fitting boots.

Other than myself, you have the best taste in boots, my man... Ha! I think all too often we get caught up in other peoples opinions and preferences. I say if you like them, wear 'em. They look great. Only you can decide, even if a "pro" says you are wrong. I have a buddy who loves his PNW boots to fit like a firm glove. I do not...I prefer room in them. I think the pinch method may be a good guideline. In the end, only you can decide. Keep the videos coming. Cheers, mate !

You've covered a few issues there but as you say, it's the person wearing the boots who decides if they are right.

I saw your post on the FB group, and then completely randomly stumbled upon the video here. Can you take a photo of the inside of the boot? Flash on, point the camera toward the toes. You’ve got me quite interested.

Based off many of the footbed pics I’ve seen online in PNW space? Dudes size their boots too long. It shows their toes like 1.5” back from front of boot. That’s ridiculous. It seems instead of buying a boot with a Last shaped for their toes, they just order boots 1-2 sizes too long to ensure no toe smash. The PNW Lasts in general are poorly shaped, with very narrow toe boxes. So I do see how they could end up doing this. Faulty Lasts.

I used their sizing tool (11.5 D on the Brannock) and was told to go with the 11 D...these are the brown double shot cap toe. They're beautiful boots but just a tad on the snug side and they take a bit of effort to put on. Was thinking for my next pair to try something in their wide (EE) width, but if you look on a Brannock device (just checked yesterday at a uniform store) the difference between D and EE is substantial. I was 'professional' measured as well and just told I was a "wide width" at another shoe store. Big takeaway is that some folks like a loose/tight fit and criteria like lasts and manufacturer play a part. I'm happy with mine!

I know taste is subjective, but if this dude thinks Truman Java Waxed Flesh is ugly I wouldnt care for any of his other opinions on style. Only thing I would have done different is not back pedaled one bit, those are absolutely dress shoes. I have a pair of Truman Double shot and when Ive worn them out ive actually had random people compliment my boots, which lets be honest Id be lying if I said I didnt enjoy that.

better a little too long than too short.. I already had to sell a pair of Truman that was too short.. What is your Brannock size?

Same here, i had to recently sell my pair of Truman boots due to size being too small. I was recommended by Truman to go the same size as my two pairs of Iron Rangers, but once they arrived (after more than two months of waiting) i was heartbroken to find out that since the front of the boot (where the toes are) is much more narrow than the Iron Rangers i cannot wear them comfortably at all. My feet were hurting because my toes were too squished. I'm guessing i would have to order a full size up from what i have in Red Wing. Shame. I ended up getting a beatiful pair of Blacksmiths in Copper Rough and Tough that i love.

Quite true. Brannock - I did ask him to measure me but he wouldn't! I've done photos on a ruler for Bordon who say 12.5EE or 13EE. Kevin at Caswell did the same and said that I needed a 13EE with tweaking (whatever that means). My foot length is 29.5cm.

@@piotrwydmuch9413 Using their form and getting feedback I was recommended to half size down to 11 and keep the D width. They're a touch snug on me but if I decided on another pair I'm wondering if going to the EE width would be a problem.

I was in the London Tricker's shop on Jermyn Street this past summer. I bought a pair of Bourton shoes and probably spoke with the same salesman. He knows his stuff. I tried on a pair of shoes, and he looked at them and said they look too big, try on a half size smaller. I did and they were instantly more comfortable. So yeah, he knows what he's talking about. Have you happened to try on a pair of 12 1/2 EE Truman boots instead of the 13EE? I wear a EE size also, so the Bourton's are a G fitting, and after wearing them 4 or 5 times, they are super comfortable. Perhaps you should reconsider your Truman boot size.

Fella clearly had no idea what he was talking about. Undoes your laces and that's it. Not an expert by any means

Was he aware of what a PNW boot break in is like lol. You can’t pinch the leather because it’s 20% thinking than the leather on trickers wing tips lol.

Good point. I told him it was Horween and as Tricker's do a few models from this tannery the penny dropped. I'll say now, he was a good man, knowledgeable but blinkered to old fashioned English style which isn't a bad thing.
