PLOT: Years after the shark attacks that left Amity Island reeling, Sheriff Martin Brody (Roy Scheider) finds new trouble lurking in the waters. Mayor Vaughn (Murray Hamilton) wants to rid the beach town of the stain on its reputation. But the disappearance of a pair of divers suggests that all is not right. When Sheriff Brody voices his warnings about holding a sailing competition, everyone thinks it's post-traumatic stress. That is, until a shark fin cuts through the water.

This was one of my favorite parts of Jaws 2. As a kid I thought the woman in the boat was Chief Brody's wife, but I was wrong.

My copy of the novel had a huge shark bearing down on the skier with its mouth wide open. The stuff of nightmare! The book scared me too much to have a bath for ages! I had to use the shower but then there’s Psycho to worry about...

jaws 2 was filmed near my house in navarre, florida. one sunday i went with some friends down to the holidome hotel where the shooting was headquarterd and got photos of us with the burned dummy that was supposed to be the body of the girl that burned up in that boat. the shark sat on its pontoon boat mount in the parking lot. roy scheider was laying out on the beach. he was very nice to a group of high school boys who didnt have enough sense than to bother a star. class guy.

According to production, Roy hated being forced into Jaws 2 due to contractual obligations. Even got physical with the director.

I'm pretty sure everyone already knows this.......and commented on it multiple times......but i just could never understand the logic of the girl driving the boat.....like.....i understand the situation your in...scared....it happened so fast....but....why would you pour gasoline all over yourself......then set yourself on fire🔥 .....its like adding insult to injury....as if your situation was bad enough....your friend just died.....your about to experience a similar Fate....but....ya know what.....i think im gonna pour gas on myself.....the smell might drive it away.....ok thats not working....think im gonna set myself ablaze.....im not even gonna try to survive this 🤔😏😒🤪

I thought the movie delivered as far as the bottom line was concerned (story, drama, intense acting performances, etc...). My only real complaint was the minimal gore. No matter how savagely the shark is supposed to be tearing it's victims limb-from-limb, you barely see even a drop of blood in the water!
