you do know that jay actually is american tho right? he does both hip hop and r&b. when you listen to his wordwide album there are songs with a very similar sound like "soju" and "fsu". he's a versatile artist and always tries out new things and since he's under roc nation it only makes sense that he collaborates with western artsists. that does not mean that he's abandoning his korean music. he already dropped a korean soju remix for instance.

Ended up back in USA suffering hardships but ended up going back yo Korea became very popular once again but on his own. Started his own record label AOMG where he is the co-CEO and has worked and signed many famous other artists plus has supported up and coming hip hop artists. He started a second record label H1GHER records but it is international. He is the co-CEO of that company as well. I think KHip Hop and RnB have a more old school /underground American Hip Hop and RnB feel to them which is what Jay grew up on. That also goes for other artist like Dean, Zion T, Crush, Zico, Epik High, Dynamic Duo, etc. Aside from his 2pm days Jay has never sounded Kpop he's always sounded American. when he first released this half the American comments were "why are you rapping about florida state" lol. Your comments at the end about placing more western artists around him was true. Under Roc Nation they wanted an all English EP, so he kind of went back to the American hip-hop side for that, but I think its a good Segway into reaching a larger audience who may have put him in only Korean music (of any type). He is definitely changing things up in Korea, but still staying true to what he wants to achieve and his beliefs which is rare.
