Such a beautiful e39 M5 😍 Perfect condition! Greets from Germany! I have a e39 528i and i love it! These are real cars!! The e39 M5 is my absolute dreamcar!!!!
Great details especially around the fog light surrounds. Thanks for the exhaust notes, I’ve been looking into Dinan for the same reasons and might do that setup as well
Thanks. It was actually your videos on the halos/fogs that inspired me to make the LED upgrade. Glad the exhaust notes were helpful - choosing an exhaust was definitely a challenge given all the options. As I noted in the video, I think the Dinan is a nice middle ground in terms of volume and aggression.
I have the exact same, mine is 03 with 98k miles. Just recently did the center bearing and Guibo disc replacement, new Michelin sport a/s Needs suspension updates next
Personally I think LeMans Blue is the penultimate color for an E39 M5 - it's classy and elegant, yet not stodgy like a silver or black. Then again, I'm somewhat biased, being the owner of an '03 LMB M5 myself.
Nice video! Another 02 Lemans owner here with Dinan exhaust and a few other goodies. How did you get rid of the error message when you went LED fog light bulbs?
I have the same exact one but 03 and with pdc. 45k on the clock. My understanding is there was a total of 581 of these produced with this color combination, but haven’t been able to identify what number of the 581 i have, have you?
My resource is available here: www.dropbox.com/s/p451eb6a7sjyv2l/E39%20M5%20FACTORY%20STATS.xlsx?dl=1 I see 2,355 LeMans blue M5s world wide, though I do not have the interior breakdown on a global scale.@@TakesTalent
@@thenerfherder9586 depends what you prefer, but if you like the non-sport 5 series, youll fall in love with the m5 because both the car’s throttle and steering response is much more engaging.
Regular E39 ride quality is some of the best I’ve ever experienced. Lots of sound deadening, and the way the suspension absorbs imperfections is truly remarkable. I credit it to the generous amount of suspension travel (modern BMWs lack suspension travel and the ride quality really suffers). I also credit it to the sidewall on the OEM rims. The E39 M5 rides almost as well. The ride is a little stiffer but very controlled, however “stiff” is relative because it rides way better than most performance sedans. Noise isolation, just like on regular E39s, is very good. The exhaust is quiet, and there is very little road and wind noise. In either configuration, it’s truly an amazing long distance cruiser.
