As Christians we do have to state that the New Testament was given by God through his prophets and disciples and apostles of his Church. To say men wrote it, is to give ammunition to Muslims to disregard the book, and its teachings from God. Of course the bodies that were temples of the Lord used their physical attributes to have the Gospels given but Jesus made them his prophets, his messengers, and indeed they were prophets. Mu man was not a prophet and certainly not a messenger of the Lord, he was useless and brought nothing but conflict and arrogance, confusion and evil deeds.
The understanding that muzlimz get by saying the scriptures were given to the apostles, is the islamic one, whereby allah word for word downloaded the quran. That’s not true of the bible. So saying the bible was written by men by inspiration of the Holy Spirit is the biblical correct way.

I didn’t lie, they prophesied, evangelised, preached, healed and rid people of demons. Therefore, they were prophets, and we should make Muslims aware that the Apostles were prophets, as they only respect prophets, not men! And if you want to say that Paul didn’t prophecy, then think on how he said “ don’t accept a different Jesus and a different gospel even if it’s given by an Angel, cursed be such an Angel”. A brilliant prophecy! And do you not accept that John who was imprisoned on an island, was a prophet of God, then you can dismiss the Book of Revelation.
@@joem7799 My point has nothing to do with whether the disciples prophesied or evangelised. It’s that their writings were by inspiration of the Holy Spirit and not word for word given to them by God. That’s been the biblical understanding and the understanding of the church for two thousand years. We should not change that to counter Islam.

Christians understanding of who God is: So God sacrificed God to God in order to save God’s creation from God. God prayed to God for help but God didn’t help God, and God killed God with the help of humans.
