Awesome podcast, I have shared it with everyone at my department. I have been pushing for more and better training, and I keep hitting the wall called Admin. Can you share the schedule you mention that allows for biweekly training.

Agreed, been a cop for 18 years and was surprised how little combatives was trained. Having wrestled competitively from first grade though college and combatives in the Army, I nearly always feel comfortable in confrontations but lacking those experiences, I would feel naked doing the job. Glad you're bringing light to it. My agency has made massive progress on this in the last two years. Keep it going.

I love this podcast, and the opportunity to visit your BRCC location next time we’re back in Idaho, we have a place in the Victor area and family in Jackson, but we’d happily make the trip up north and check out the park. We lived in Wilson WY for 2 years and absolutely love the outdoors. I’m actually a plant based eater, I wear loads of leather and I’m not against hunting/conservation obviously, but I could probably skin and gut an elk from all the shows and documentaries and guides to do so. It would be an awesome opportunity being a “vegan” so to speak.

I’m kind of surprised there’s not a Cleared Hot Food Truck that serves coffee, I mean that name was meant for coffee. I’ve been in the coffee business down in the states with Wormhole Coffee and Caffe Streets in Chicago as well as a lot of experience working with Intelligentsia which I’m really over and they don’t have too much of here in AZ.

Our curriculum differs significantly from that of the mentioned company. Major distinctions include: every single one of our instructors has law enforcement experience (resumes on the website), high-level jujitsu, wrestling, and/or MMA experience. Additionally, we incorporate tactics from subject matter experts who have testified in Federal and local courts, and our approach to integrating weapons into the policing environment is completely unique. We have many who can attest to these differences. Hope to see you at a class.

I’m all about seeing what’s out there and so I will look deeper in what you have to offer. Honestly though, from the outside, I see little difference beteeen the two. I guess I’ll have to attend to find out! Best wishes and much success; it’s a great and noble endeavour you have undertaken and as leo, I’m grateful for people like you!

I’ve taken EFC and I’ve gone over GST with our DT instructors. EFC is not GST. I’ve spoken with dozens of people who have done both courses. Not once has someone told me GST is better than EFC. In fact my department and the biggest agency in my area are moving away from GST.

Can we hold society for the majority of the blame? Once police, across the board, are proficient in combatants society will pull out a militant card and blame police again.

Growing up in LA Ca, LALE used the unwritten policy of “beat & release”as youth we were aware of this policy. My parents had the most impact on my childhood. We were raised to respect LE. Tough town, tough Cops. I would add you must behave respectful manner and answer all their questions. My father’s philosophy was “if you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to worry about”. LE usually and predictably respond to your demeanor. Dick vs dick or respect vs respect. LE has a very difficult career keeping our world in order.
@darklyripley6138
@darklyripley6138 3 месяца назад
While I agree with a lot of that, the idea that “If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to worry about” is nonsense. People break the law all the time without knowing it. You are under no obligation answer questions or speak to the police. We live in a system where we are innocent till proven guilty. Not the other way around.
