He plays a little ahead of the beat. Never speeds up though. Kinda gives a little push to the feel but put a click to it and tempo stays on point.

bands who plays in concerts usually increases or decreases their tempo depending on the song. yea you’ve definitely heard your favorite song a million times and when it comes to concerts, they give a whole different vibe by adjusting tempos, adding notes on guitar solos, etc.

He’s pretty on it in this video, but I know what you mean. 3:42’s fills are pushed a little bit, but he finds the 1 after really easily, so it almost sounds slightly modulated instead of rushed. My theory is that he practices a lot of these fills at slightly higher tempos than the performance to make sure it sounds clean. It might just be muscle memory that’s pushing it faster than the click.
