Hey everyone, I’m sorry again for there not being video for Jay’s portion of this interview - there was a technical error and the conversation was so real, raw and emotional that I didn’t want to re shoot it. I would definitely suggest giving this a listen!
Watching this broke me down. I'm not gonna lie. We got into things i hadn't thought about in a long time. I appreciate you and Thank you for having me on. Keep killing em. Salute
There is few real true guys that can't help but be loyal and I am loyal to a fault and I'm compassionate and sympathetic , once you hurt me enough times. I just quit . If I quit on you, most are bad people .
Been following Jay sense he had less then 10,000 subs. Big big respect for this dude and you Ian. Been clean from booze for 4 years now. First year sucked but that’s when I found jays channel it gave me a ton a motivation. So thanks Jay for being there without even knowing me. Hope we cross paths so I can shake your hand. Kids don’t do drugs or booze. Not worth it.
Would've really loved to see Jay's facial expressions during this, but shit happens. Glad this interview happened. Love the content from both Ian and Jay.
GREAT INTERVIEW!!!! ABSOLUTELY LOVE JAY WILLIAMS ...HES 100 AND HE HAS A HEART OF GOLD....MAJOR SALUTE TO YOU BOTH!!!!!! 💯💯🙏🙏🙏☝️☝️☝️☝️🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Jay is One of my favorite RU-vidrs out of all genres I listen to. Good solid advice, stand up guy, and is able to articulate what he is saying in a way that keeps you engaged and focused. It’s always nice to hear stories of people overcoming their past and the obstacles they defeated to become the best person they can be.
As someone who was raised Cherokee, this hits harder now. Followed Jay for a while but didn’t know about his past. Hate hearing the abuse from Native parents, but this is still a major problem cause there are still parents and grandparents out there who were abused in Indian Schools and will never be right. It’s generational trauma.
My great grandfather was in ww1 and my grandfather in ww2 I have a ton of generational trauma. I wake up in the middle of the night screaming " fire in the generational hole "! Sometimes I hear a car backfire and start running from generational gunshots!
Been watching Jay since he had a few hundred followers. Dude is as real as it gets. So proud of all youve accomplished. As someone who was once in the game and now has a family and a legit career i really hope these young kids listen to this and understand that it is not a glorious life.
Now that's out the way tell me of another person who can be interviewed by several people on several platforms telling their story with most of the details already out there and still be "Locked In" on the edge of your seat type of thing. Amazing job on both your parts and I consider myself extremely lucky to have had an interaction with both of you guys. Ty for that and I can promise you both as long as I'm alive I will be subbed and passing you along to anyone who will listen. A definite sincere Thanks not just to you guys it's to everyone in this "Community" I borrowed that from another creator.! Hopefully he doesn't mind that's one big Dude right there. K i will give you a hint he has rather large..... I can't say it he may track me down like all the other keyboard warrior's. Disclaimer it's all in fun and please keep this rolling and not become just a fad!!!👍 🇨🇦
Bro you 2 are the realist Podcasters out there. Both have took the time to respond to a message from me or comment. And that itself means the world man
Jay, your picture is haunting in a beautiful way showing raw emotions. I see a little hurt child, now a grown adult man in charge of his life, still healing, seriously trying to help others. Prayers for you and all of yours. Great interview Ian and Jay...
Jay Williams is by far the real deal, after I got sober in 2019 is when I started watching Jay. It's been a big part in me getting sober and staying sober. I'm really glad that you Ian had him on.Jay,JD all of you guys really have given old junkie convicts a lot of hope man! Keep up the content
Damn man... I've been watching Jay for a looooong time... I still get a little teary eyed when he talks about his childhood. I can't say it's similar to mine, but I understand the fear of going home, the uncertainty, the fighting etc. I'd prob been real close with him if we grew up together.. I wish he didn't have to go to prison to become who he is now, but prison was certainly successful in rehabilitation for this guy..
Sounds a lot like my story, and listening to this alone tonight....realizing i was becoming my father not violent but not being the best father or husband i could be. Always feeling the negative, always stuck in those bad vibes. Jay already went and did it, we all know how it ends i hate the fact that such a good dude went through such a bad portion of his life. But because of hos expieriences some of us dont have too
Just a few minutes in, so sadden by this man's childhood 😢 I'm a huge fan of Jay, love his stories, but can't help but see that scared little boy. We moved just as much and can relate with trying to make friends all over again. But I wasn't abused. Much love Jay, salute man!
Ian’s interview skills are next level. This was a great collaboration. Looking forward to more great videos, you’ve got my subscription. Keep up the good content.
Damn Ian, I appreciated you getting back to my comment so fast last night I promised myself Id just listen to your channel today and hit this video first. Great interview bro, I love Jay he's so inspirational to have been through so much and turned out so well. My only problem was I just saw him on Woody's channel yesterday and everytime I hear his story it breaks my ❤ a little more, lol. It's ot really a problem man I'm just sayin, I'm off too the next story, thanks for all ya do bro, you're appreciated. Salute 👊 respect
Next time I interviewed a star like Jay, I would for damn sure have not 1, but 2,3, or 4 working cameras! Great interview regardless!! Can't wait for part two!!
Interesting how homeboy can remember verbatim conversations he had while on “hella Xanax and alcohol” over 2 decades ago… from experience of being under the influence of Xanax you do not truly remember anything about anything… coming from experience, I’ve blacked out for 2-3 week period even with a tolerance to Xanax and not drinking alcohol. The pills are a mind eraser. If this fools drinking and taking Xanax he would not remember any word said in any of these situations…sad to see people cap when they could just keep it 💯
Ian! Thanks so much for doing what you do! It’s important to normalize and reveal the consequences and reality of what the criminal lifestyle can do to your life. I left a similar comment on your short that brought me to this video, but I encourage you to pin your own comment on all your shorts with the title of the full length video, the name of the guest, plus the link to the full length interview. Bonus points if you link the guests youtube or socials if applicable. I’m sure it’ll help engagement and streamline the way new viewers are exposed to your content. Keep doing what you’re doing man.
You said something Jay that hit the same for me in my drug addiction. You got to be tired of that life and come to hate it. It happened to me on my last run. It got literally exhausting to the point I just could not live that life anymore. I also had a son that needed me and I was selfish. The exact same as you said just yours pertains to the life of crime and mine was drugs combined with crime. I've been a subscriber of Jays since the beginning and i remember when you blew up with that video and i was happy for you because you deserved it. You put in the hard work to get it. We are very like-minded individuals and he comments on so many things that I've been through and how we both overcame our struggles the same way. It's like an odd mirror I'm looking into. I have the utmost respect for him and always be a subscriber. I'm going on three years clean now I'm a great father to my son I have a great job but it took a lot of hard work in order to get to this point
That life was no life I used to call my life an existence rather than a life you spend all your day chasing drugs and your night off your head not wanting the next day to start again it was groundhog day every day and at my worst point I didn't want to be here anymore I drunk drain cleaner trying to end the pain but all I did was cause a whole lot more after that I set fire to my house with me still in it and once again I was saved I began to think I was being punished by God left to live a lonely life of suffering thankfully I ended up in prison after the last attempt at suicide I got myself clean and started doing a bricklaying course once I got out of prison I got a house and at that point I came across jays podcast and I have listened to him almost daily for 3 years now and he has kept me going on the right path since all I do now is smoke some weed at night my life is far from good but it's much better than it was and I hope you can stay on the right path too bro take care and be safe 🏴💪🇺🇸👊👊👊
So glad you had jay on ! Solid person and man/ father ! So much life experience and knowledge !!been watching him and you for a while ! Keep doing you to you, to you both !! Much love and respect from Buffalo,NY .
I appreciate you brother I had a similar childhood I know what it's like scanner for you for any other siblings and take take the hit for them keep talkin brother
Same. I started watching him in my last round of rehab and he's been instrumental in me making the right choices to not go back to the streets. Salute, Jay Williams!!!
I have been following Jay for a good year now, I always wondered what his life story was , I find his life story inspirational knowing the man he has come to be .Keep Rocking Jay you made my day with this interview and thanks to Ian as well.
Wahooooo Mijo 1:33:20 !!! Yup, I've been a Jay fan since he was putting content 6months in on RU-vid... He's a real one!!! Jay said what I have always said, "MONSTERS ARE REAL!!!"... Big Love, Tia Nina!!!
Ian your pumping out great content. I am a huge supporter. I am here for the long haul .Great interview ,and mistakes will happen on your journey. Just keep moving forward and everyone should still listen even though the video was nit there.
Next time maybe don't try to use a photo of him looking like he is in the studio. Maybe switch back to your camera more and show your reactions to his story might make it feel like more as if he was in the studio . I know more editing so I get it.
I enjoyed this so much! Thank you both. I've personally never done time, however I know many who have. One of my most loyal friends is doing Federal time currently. He is institutionalized and it's such a sad thing to have watched all these years. I really just wanted to let you know that I have been watching Jay for awhile now and learned alot. This broadcast made me smile and made me cry. Even thou our lives are very different some things said today hit me at such a emotional level I feel it's the final shove to make at least one change that I know I truly need but have been minimalizing for at least the last 3 years. Know that words spoken sincerely & honestly may be the lifeline for someone.
As a truck driver, I want to say thank! I often catch myself driving for 10-11 hours daily and listing to this helps with the drive. Keep up the good work!
Excellent. Been watching Jay a while, I knew bits and pieces of his story. Never heard it all put together like this and I gatta say it makes a lot of sense. He’s a strong minded dude, and that’s not created overnight. Good luck to ya Jay
Jay Williams was the one that got me into the prison RU-vid channels. He's so raw and real and watching his videos is what led me to Ian bick! I enjoy watching both of your videos and you both are doing big things!
Animated series? Damn, ive been sleepin on this genre for a couple months not because I was sick of it, but even though ive been home since nov. Of 2017, I felt like it was making me dwell on my years in prison. Just took a step back. Just recently started watching again and jay's been one of the top ppl I watch on the matter. Ian im somewhat new to, but I really think hea gonna be one of the top great channels on the subject. Anyway, hope everybody liked this colab as much as I just did!😊
I just discovered this channel. Very interesting interview. Thanks so much for sharing your insides Jay and thanks Ian for the ability to interview this way.
Ian bick and Jay Williams this kind of content is fire. I do not take it as glorification in any way. Interesting but yall do NOT make it sound like anywhere anyone wants to go.. iv read the comments in many of these kind of videos and I see that it helps people.. thanks Ian and Jay, keep up the good work
You wally ...looks like some sort of comedy sketch. It looks like you're talking to a dummy. Should have just put a picture of jay up and save yourself the edit. Great interview though.
Been following jw since day one,we absolutely lived the same life, obviously with some differences but in a whole,it's the same,REAL life, Ian love your content and following you too big fan
Thanks Jay loved the story I'm s woman 66 yrs.old I know like the story your talking about thing different is my father didn't beat on my Mom but we were his and that was that thanks much appreciate you
Coke, meth etc. Comes down to you just finally saying I don't want to get high no more, 100% mental. Opiates an alcohol on the other hand are a different story. As to Jay saying he had no withdrawal stopping the cocaine.
Yeeesssssiiiiirrrrrr been waiting on this one 🔥🔥 glad my dude Jay pulled up. Ik Jay done did some with JD but I need y’all to pull up on each other too. 🔥💪🏼
This was a real good interview. I don’t think I’m the only person who listens to your videos while working, so not having the video of Jay wasn’t an issue at all.
My father was a Cherokee and very abusive and you're right get knocked down at the age of 5 6 was like a hug my father wsd more sprocket change razor straps things of that nature
