This ''can't beat'em, join'em' thing is how the biggest names have established dominance in the game for years; they buy out the competition. It doesn't take long either. That 'hot' window is open only so long for rising rappers. Then 4-5 years later when they've raised enough hell and paid enough lawyers to finally win their artistic freedom- they're irrelevant, buried beneath 5 years worth of new sounds, crazier styles and younger faces. And they never fully catch up
